all aussies appear to have an inferiority complex about the uk after they got slaughtered at the Olympics.
they trot out the usual slurs and insults directed at Brits when in fact they live in the most backward and primitive place on the planet. go back to the 70s and australia was a farking dump of a hole, its only because of the asian imigrants that have brought about change since then . But its still a boring dump of drunken slobs and thats just the sheilas .
Good to see you are coming up with some original "thoughts" izzie =D> A nice change from the mindless drivel that you have been cutting and pasting.

Oh! Wait a minute. It is still mindless drivel

It's OK, Jack. Izzie probably had too much to drink last night. He might have woken up this morning feeling a bit of a silly arse for having a crack at the Aussies. We've all said something we shouldn't have when we've been three sheets to the wind. :drunk:

If I was PM (scary thought), I'd get rid of those silly U turns on the dual carriage ways and phase in the good old British roundabout system at designated junctions.

If I was PM, I'd instigate a town planning team for Udonthani and create a new city centre with a bit of logic to it (maybe that's too anally retentive for Thais).

Lastly I'd attract foreign investment through creating special old folks villages by the seaside for retired farang to live in, rather like what the Americans do.

   Dear God no, the 2 I have to negotiate every day sends my blood pressure from moderate to sky high.

If you need to teach someone about the meaning of the word confusion, take them to an Udon roundabout.
"Do I go or do you go?"
"I go my truck is newer therefore I have more money and am more important."
"You are a durian seller and lower down the food chain, I go."
#-o #-o #-o

Oh and there already is an old folks retirement village by the seaside... It's called Pattaya... :fryingpan:

Well the Hong Kong Chinese seem to have mastered the concept of the roundabout so it's not an Asian issue.

Pattaya isn't really a place for well to do retired folk, Alan (elevated heart rates and all that). I was thinking along the lines of Krabi or something similar. But good to see you've retained your sense of humour, I was getting concerned for your welfare.

Note the laughing emoticon.

Yes, that's why they all got Blitish citizenship when we pulled out. :^o

Well there must be a better way of operating a junction on a dual carriage way rather than a U turn. :-k

How about having an exit road that goes off at an angle up to a little bridge above the dual carriage way where you can cross to the other side? Conversely, you could also have an entry (shall we call it) ramp back onto the carriageway. Yes, I shall include that spiffing idea in my Manifesto. Of course PM Westerby hasn't even begun to think about how to keep Kwai and Bua off the dual carriage way yet but that could also be a vote winner.

Well actually that u-turn is a tad dangerous... But they are Buddhist u-turns so nothing can happen they are perfectly safe. Just drive up no need to stop just carry on and veer to the left side of the road (watch out for those motorbikes going the wrong way) no plomplem!

The ramp is a good idea in principle but to a Thai it means going out of your way and that is a no-no... You must go from A to B in the shortest distance possible.

If I keep disagreeing with the PM methinks I will not be getting in the cabinet. A closet maybe!

Oh, I had you pencilled in as Minister for Entertainment with Izzix as my Ambassador in Canberra and BM as my Special Minister for Kwai, Bua and computer issues. Aznyron was going to be my Head of MI6 (shaken not stirred). Jack Spratt was going to be my envoy to the US.

I would consider abolishing all road signals/signs etc and sell them for scrap...as no one takes any notice of them anyway, i would put the money towards taking care of scrawny Soi Dogs....and a new 'Far Out' flavour of Ice Cream.

hey you

roundabouts, big problem there are no road markings not even a stop line. do you remember the students waving the flag and blowing the whistle to get drives t stop at the lights? how many traffic lights in udon have road markings?? westerby idea for the bridge for a u turn is already in use on some of the newly built roads.

Oh no! #-o I can't believe someone's got there ahead of me. I could have lost my deposit as a prospective Thai MP if I'd followed that one. Surely there must be some other clever scams (oops, ideas) to get me voted in?

I like the way you're thinking but I fear an increase in car accidents from drivers being dazzled by snazzy pedestrians. How about covering your Kwai, Bua and Mah (rising tone) with bacofoil shirts so they don't get hit on the dual carriage ways at night?

We need to be quick - the Democrats could be in power before the end of next week.

Hey thats a good one..include moto-si riders with no rear light to put the icing on the cake

Ok Make it law that Sugar Cane trucks dangle a baco-foil shirt from the rear of the truck...instead of a small single red bulb (if you are lucky enough to see it) then they would stand out from the crowd (well other traffic) and you could negotiate a route round them safely......Sugar cane trucks need be seen at night, with a baco foil warning system.
