Have you done a recce on the UD centre? One thing struck me was it is VERY loud. Saturday night in NM when football is on is ok and you can maintain a conversation but any time I have been in UD they have blasted out Thai rock music (Clash/Potato etc) that you can still hear after you cross the road and on into Centrepoint.

Suggest you send an advanced party Captain Mortimer sir and report back to the troops.

Been there on a few occasions and I think that NM is much more louder. Beer is a bit more expensive than the NM but comparable to D&N or Nutty park. Plenty of parking, toilets are cleaner, free (BYTP) and meal choices are slightly better than the NM.

As for the NM, there was no footie on this last meeting but the noise was so loud that I could only talk with the guys on my immediate right or left without shouting, so I can't imagine UC being any louder.

I am easy I have no problem trying out the UD center for a meet I would like to suggest why not have 2 meets a month like the first & third Saturday just idea to kick around I also think it would save some of you a few coins since going to the bars is a lot more expensive than the UD or NM and you would be drinking with real friends and it also will get the Ladies out and mingle with each other which IMO is very good for them they are not isolated at home since there are 5 saturdays this month why not set it up for
the 17 of Jan for the mid month meet which gives us enough time to check things out and make our plans

UC is significantly less noisy, especially if you sit at the white tables furthest away from the stage. These tables are not in the beer garden, however, the beer garden will service you with beer towers etc. My wife says the food is not as good as Talad Preecha, however, it is ok with me.

I will be at the UD Centre/Plaza, or as some of us call it, Tent City this Saturday 17 Jan 2009/2552. Would be a nice time to scope things out and see how this would be for future NM Get Together. I will be there sometime between 6:30 pm and 7:00 pm. See you all there that come and remember to keep the 3 baht in your pockets, the hongnam is free.

I"ll go for that Popsi.IMO! There is better atmophere there! I personally would like to go different date od the month as Saturday of the 1st always so busy,and not easy to park car.
