Re: Favourite Music.
Sixties pop star Dave Dee dies
The lead singer of Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Tich, who in the late-60s spent more time in the UK charts than the Beatles, has died after a three-year battle with cancer.
Dave Dee, lead singer of 1960s stars Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Tich has died today at his Cheshire home after a three-year battle with cancer. He was 65.
Although the band scored eight Top 10 hits, they are perhaps best remembered for their No 1 song The Legend of Xanadu. Formed 1961 by Dee, a former Wiltshire policeman, between 1965 and 1969 the band spent more time in the UK charts than the Beatles.
Despite his illness Dee had continued touring with the band until recently, said his publicist Sean Cooney.
"He didn't let it get him down, he was defying it," Cooney said.
Dee – real name David Harman – would joke about always being recognised as "the one with the whip", after a sound effect on The Legend of Xanadu. In fact, the sound had been made by sliding a bottle along his guitar strings and banging two bits of wood together.

Re: Favourite Music.
And now for some hard-driving dance music from 2006 courtesy of Me' (Jeeranan Kritprasan), Fai-Nathatai Saengpetch (who seems to have disappeared from the pop scene), and the very popular Lydia, wearing the hat, (Sarunrat Wisuttitida) who were aged 22, 17 and 19 respectively at the time. Of course the one I like most is Me', but she ran into problems with the Ministry of Culture owing to the words to her video, Call Me, Baby.

Re: Favourite Music.
This one by Me' is called, I really miss you. The words in English have been provided so that you can sing along in English as well as Thai. Up to you.
Me': Khit teung ter jing jing (I really miss you)
In the morning, I'll still wake up like any day
All that I encounter is silence/loneliness
Even when I sleep I still see problems of the past
I've never been able to get rid of it
There's only you
That's in my heart
I really miss you
Why do I miss you like this?
I want to turn back time
And allow me to have you again
But there probably won't be a way
And today I kinda learned
What I should do is to forget
But I don't know when I can forget
No matter how time passes by
It also makes me understand more
There's no way I can forget you
I really miss you
Why do I miss you like this?
I want to turn back time
And allow me to have you again
But there probably won't be a way
If I could go back in time once more
I would do everything
To not lose you
But is there any option left for me?
Or is there really nothing at all anymore?
In the morning, I'll still wake up like any day
I still left your picture there like that
Everything is still the same like yesterday
And it makes me understand more
That without you there is no meaning at all
I really miss you
Why do I miss you like this
I want to turn back time
And allow me to have you again
But there probably won't be a way
I really miss you
Why do I miss you like this
I want to turn back time
And allow me to have you again
But there probably won't be away

Favourite music?
Pachelbel's Canon, gregorian Chants, Mozart Requiem and most of his operas, The Ring Cycle - love to blast the neighbours with "The Ride of the Valkyrie", Scylla and Glaucus by Le Claire, Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, individual Crimson, and quite a few others.

Saw individual Crimson play at the Aylesbury Civic Centre in 1981/82. I think they had Brian Eno with them.rufus wrote:Favourite music?

Never seen Ferry looking so camp... Eye shadow?
Only ever knew Eno as a producer with Daniel Lanois on the U2 stuff. That tambourine slapping was a handy gig.

But without the enhanced sound effects, this would not be so good!

And here is one by the ever popular Tuktan Chollada entitled, 'Kor kae mee ton hai rak', which means something like, 'I only ask for your love' or 'I only ask that you give me your love'. It is a very serious song brought to you by the newest in electronics. Do not cry all at once:

Time to plug some local talent... I think these guys would have made it but the lead singer got into drugs. Heroin is such a curse:

The Stereophonics - good choice. Did you see them doing the Beatles Abbey Road sessions on the BBC last year? Kaiser Chiefs were there aswell - excellent.
