Transporting bicycles on Domestic flights

Does anyone have any experience of taking a bicycle with you on a domestic flight in Thailand? I have seen people with them at airports, including Udon, but do you know, can they be taken as normal checked in baggage, (presumably subject to the normal weight limits) and do they have to be part dismantled in anyway? And does one have to make prior arrangements?

Ones took a bicycle from Scandinavia to Phuket without any problem. Went to the local bicycle shop and got a box (the ones new bicycle arrives in), dismantled the front wheel and handlebars, packed everything in the box, and checked in as usual. I

i once took a bike with me from bkk to phuket, but the airline staff would'nt put the bike in the hold and insisted that she sat in the seat next to me.
also no problem on weight limits luckily. :shock: :D

Yeah a Wheely good ride indeed, but when i Spoke to the bike after i had no reply i guess they were in the wrong Frame of mind and i was'nt Geared up for that response, so i grew Tyred of the situation and put the Brakes on the relationship. #-o

Sorry to hear about that Beer Monkey. Hope you didn't have to Fork out to much. I guess you'll Tread more carefully next time. Were you Saddled with her for long? Did she Puncture your ego? :? :lol: :lol:
