Cigar's

Post by Othello » January 20, 2009, 4:34 pm

Can anyone tell me if there is a shop in Udon that sells cigar's ?
My father is visiting for a few weeks and has asked me the question.
I cannot answer it as I stopped smoking a few years ago.

Not sure about Udon Othello. I am 90% sure that duty free on the Laos side of the bridge sell them though.

Thank you Bob.
I was in the duty few a few days ago on a visa run.
They had some but the selection was very poor.

Might be better for him to pick some up at Duty Free if he is coming from outside Thailand....even if you do find some in an obscure place they could have been sitting on the shelf a while gathering dust, if he coming from Heathrow (UK) there is a rather nice Cigar shop in 'no mans land' and well worth a browse....you name it they got them.

I think you find find it hard to find a better selection in Udon and, if you find any, the price will be considerably more.
It might be better if your father bought some duty free on the way out to Thailand. BUT, be careful about allowances, it is on of the things that customs at BKK are pretty hot about. They stopped me at the sliding doors going out of Swampy the last time I landed & checked my bags. Luckily I had only one sleeve of cigarettes (the legal limit) plus a couple of loose packs - which they were fine about.

2 expensive shops with good selection, though i couldn't tell a fake from a real one. located in Bangkok, wine and spirit shop in gourmet markets, located in Emporium and Siam Paragon food court areas, easy to find. paragon one has two humidors, upstairs/upper shelf, and downstairs, for us common folk.
