Favourite writers.

Just reading latest book from James Lee Burke. He writes about Dave Robicheaux a cop in New Orleans area. The Tin Roof Blowdown mixes crime fiction with the reality of Hurricane Katrina. It is fantastic with the characters so real and true. Bill Clinton says, "He's just great, really great. Definately his best book yet". But, don't let that put you off! New York Times "The definitive crime novel about Hurricane Katrina and the devastation of New Orleans...Burke delivers his dispatches in torrents of sorrow and rage". Certainly my favorite author.

Also in my opinion also brilliant is Harlan Coben. John Sandeford and his 'prey' novels too. Dean Kootz and Stephen individual for horror/fantasy And John Burdett with 'Bangkok 8' and Bangkok Tatoo' with great Thai life insight. Ed Mcbain, Sue Grafton, John Grisham can't go wrong. Anyway coming to the end of Tin Roof Blowdown, that is certainly top dollar! =D>

agree with john burdett, on the 3rd of that trilogy, also read a lot of john grisham, especially since living in memphis. tom clancey kept me busy at work also, read quite a bit of his. having a brain lock, read quite a few really good ones, but can't think of the authors. left 100 plus books in the states, most damn good ones, most fiction, couple non, or educational, such as financial advice/investing/real estate knowledge.

David Baldacci's 1st book, Absolute Power was really good, way before the movie came out, 2nd was good also, but tough to repeat that 1st one. jaws was the first book i actually got into and read, think i one sitting, intense. i used to finish grisham and clancey rather fast also, and with clancey, that's a challenge, as his are usually long, and have to admit to a bit of speed reading, when he gets into describing technical military stuff. he's into it a bit more than i care to be.

Don't have a favourite writer per se I just seem to go for mostly crime/war books.

Don't read as much now as I used to but I suppose computers and multichannel TV might contribute to that.

I used to read only war, If I die in a combat Zone and Going after Cacciato both Tim O'Brien, a GI's account of fighting the Japanese in WWII, I forget his name and the book. All Quiet on The Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque which was of course a German perspective on the first world war.

More recently I was half way through See No Evil by ex-CIA agent Robert Baer but I left it at home last year...

Lindsey Davies wrote an interesting series of books about Falco--a private eye during the Roman Era. He is a great character and the novels detail life in ancient Rome. Her site--www.lindseydavies.co.uk is great.

Tom Sharpe is my favourite light reading, very, very funny.
No web site that I know of... A few of his books have been turned into TV/Movies. Although they had good actors & actresses, nothing like as funny as the books...

Fuzzy Kens by the complex has a large selection of books,He swaps 1-1+ 35 baht!I swap 2-1 with him,but I have a hard time finding books I have not read,as A majority of his passed through my hands before he bought Harrys collection.My neighbor and I probably put 2-300 books into that inventory.Last time I took in twenty and took out 10,4 I had already read

I buy in Bangkok alot,usually pay around 100 baht.My neighbor found a charity org. her last trip to Bangkok and bought a bunch for 35 baht!
