Over weight passenger charged for 2 seats

Post by wazza » February 3, 2009, 12:24 pm

Signs of the times

I wouldnt want this person occupying a seat next to me or even worse on an aisle seat, obstructing the entire aisle exit.

Not before effen time. These obese and arrogant ares-holes thinking that there problem should be everyone else's HAS to come too a stop. Let em pay there way at least then most of us may be able to fly in reasonable comfort.

I had a very bad experience on an Internal Indonesian - Merpati - flight where an obese American couple complete with cameras slung around there necks sat in front of me and a local with her baby. Being small and close seats they reclined their's straight into my and her lap and refused to place em upright even for take off. A ---- fight broke out with the cabin staff ending with them both being placed into separate seats down the back.

AND i say again f@ck them - Why should I have to suffer for their indulgences. PAY DOUBLE and take two seats! =D>

That should bring the house down! :fryingpan:

I wonder if they get 2 meals then!! :?

Double luggage allowance also Arjay ???? as u book your next trip from Phuket to Udon on Tummy Tuck Airlines. lol

This issue would fall under the airlines duty of care to all its passengers in the event of an evacuation incident.

Not the individuals right to be discriminated against.

Where are the aviators when u need them ?? arrrrr tucking into the free drinks at the back i see ?

The photo don't do her any good...at first glance at it The Arm chair she is sitting in looks like its part of her body, and i also thought it was a fella, and she fills the Comfy Armchair very well so imagine what a small econmmy class seat would be like.......So i can understand the airline charging more for an extra seat, more comfort for her also.

And no offence...but you knew the press where coming round why didn't you smarten your self up a bit...!

I had the misfortune to meet a fat farang who is even fatter than her/him! He has to be almost twice that size! This 'person is the most arrogant, ignorant concieted person I have ever met.He is so fat, he cant even climbe stairs. Believe it or not, he has a beautiful Thai live in G/F only 19 years old. He is absolutly gross!
But because of his arrogance and load mouth he gets to only pay for one seat.He scares the sht out of the airline staff and he gets away with it.

But how does someone of a much larger frame sit comfortably on just one seat...surely they encroach on the seat next to them.

Thats what happened to me a few years ago, when 34C overflowed into 34B and that was my TG ticket number.

I actually asked to speak the flight supervisor and got moved, citing safety issues such as evacuation and personal hygiene.

I value my ability get to get out of the plane to be the highest priority, I always ask for Emergency exit aisle seat. Its been proven to be the safest seat in surviving passenegrs who have evacuated from incidents.

Those who fly in choppers ( RAF Air Vice Marshall Westerby ) will tell u, last in the chopper means also first out.

Bloaters must also affect the centre of gravity on an airliner. A fat chap at the back might force the 'plane to fly in a nose up attitude so causing a bit of a trim headache for the driver. I bet they don't get up out of their seats to go to the toilet either, that must increase the risk of DVT, especially as they're fat.

Ms Scafe said she had cited in discussions with Jetstar a Canadian court ruling last November that overweight people could have two seats for the price of one.
Does the law in Canada have anything to do with Australia?

If the person takes up more than one seat, make them pay for more than one seat.

It might be more appropriate if this section of the forum was renamed Worldwide News :-k
