As a postscript to the military behaviour and to link to girls in uniform, which seems to be popular round here.Did any of the guys see the female members of US army? Going out in scimpy tops with huge mammaries bursting out the seams. Surely you must have felt a twinge of excitement?
Well, maybe not!!!

Will you be at the meeting on the 6th? You could regale us with some anecdotes. If you say I really don't want to hear them they must be good!

Just outside Nong Khai, past St Paul's there would appear to be a 99 Baht a night hotel in the large row of shop houses up on the hill.Certainly somewhere for the cheap charlies. :)

Buddy of mine was in UT late July and tried Mitrapacha Palace Hotel (271/2-3 Prajak Rd ), also known as cockroach hotel according to some ladies from Mojo's. "last full day in Udonthani didn't start out too well due to the absence of running water in our hotel. I found bewildered staff outside on the fire escape and helped them try to get the main water pump going to no avail."

I'll stick with City Lodge, even if I have to direct the tuktuk drivers there.

last time at Irish Clock, i took a peek at the rooms, very nice. comparing them to the sofitel in khon kaen would be a compliment to both establishments. also comes w/big breakfast. as you walk into the bar downstairs you see a lot of thought, time and money was invested for a quality job, raising the bar quite a bit for the competition. upstairs, the rooms look even more impressive. well appointed with plush furnishings, everything you need. i think i'll pass on that firm, extra firm mattress at top mansion, and treat myself in the future. what the hell, i'm worth it. hopefully the next meeting will be at the irish clock again, as we have been to all the rest, might as well stick with the best. this way i can just walk upstairs, instead of down the street. those pints go down nice. pool tables upstairs for Gary.

I must have missed that part about the Irish Clock having rooms before, did you get a price on them LA?
Didn't have a chance to check the place out, they opened the day I left.

i believe 850 baht, i think, not sure, but in ball park i'm sure. i'll be staying there shortly, i think. the rooms were really nice. i've only seen pics of city lodge, which looks comfy, but these were plush. i think he'll be a sponsor shortly or advertising. not sure if he has a website yet. i'm guessing he has email, since everything is wired for internet. i'll probably stop in this week, get some more info and make sure that price is right. might even sample the rooms fri and/or sat.

Are you sure you havent got shares in the place LA ??

that would be way too expensive. although he could issue shares for each pint, then pay dividends in beer, then have monthly stock holder meetings, w/free beer. sign me up, send my a prospectus. i think it's going to take a wee bit of time to recoup that investment, hope it's just a hobbie for him. it has turned into my favorite pint stop. check it out when you get here, if you disagree, i'll buy you couple pints, let's see, when am i going on vacation?

Think I've made my mind up where I might stay on my next visit. Due to wedding arrangements, (not mine), looks like I'm going to have to wait until Nov/Dec to try out the Irish Clocks facilities.
Good accomadation/food/entertainment all under one roof reminds me of some great weekends in Dublin.

I have to agree with Paul regarding his views on uniformed women. As we live within a empty Chang bottle throw from each other I get to see the same sights. Ahhhhh Soi Jintakam at rush hour.

Valentine, I did observe the Female??? members of the US military but only on one occasion. They seemed to compliment the male members perfectly. The term FWC comes to mind.

Ahhhh - sometimes life is sweet :)

Just came down that road today in the car and for such a narrow road it sure does get busy and I curse when someone parks on the road to 'just get a bit of food' and causes a tail back hundreds of yards. Today they went one better and not only did Sompichapornwansmakhan decide to abandon his car and buy some 'som tum' from the side road stall - but then somsakutanakhapitsom decided he too was hungry and parked directly opposit the first car - so now traffic was halted in both directions.
Because i vented out my frustration on the car horn at the sheer unbelievable action - I was looked at by everybody, who just seem to accept dumb decisions as normal.
Why can people not think for just one second ? grrrrrrrrr
