Naw my daughter told me she is going a bit ga-ga so her powers must be waning. I think losing Damian Thorne by mutual consent (don't you love that term?) and bringing in Warick Hunt is paying dividends. The boy Crouch got 13 just wish he had been captain. I need Jamie and Xabi to perform tomorrow and I don't mean a duet in the Cavern.

Beattie, aargh. Watched some of the game and he missed some good chances. My gamble making him skip didn't pay off. Believe it or not Crouch was going to be one of my signings next week but thought they would struggle this week against Everton.
Blew my head to head, no that's not a sexual preference :D , the guy has 50plus points. Dissapointed as when when West ham scored I thought it had mucked his score up, but he had Blackburns scorer and also Nasri and VPS.
Now i have to decide with a free game in in the next head to head do I completely revamp my team with the 7M I have to spend or keep it simple? :-k

IA ....... I saw your mother in law chatting to mine the other week, and I think she has passed the "CURSE" on.
Last 3 signings ....... Ronaldo (rubbish), S.Taylor (injured again) Obe Martins (misses penalty).

Got beat in Head to Head for second week running (not happened since week 7/8), and both times by a guy who has made NO TRANSFERS all season, and has only 7 or 8 players :crying: :crying: :crying:

Only small concellation is the guys in 4th and 3rd in H2H are both also loseing for the second week running.

Sorry Chelsea and United fans (well, not that sorry actually :D ) but I was chuffed when they were both beaten. So, hoping Villa might put on a good show at Anfield. Ooooppps. Didn't see game, but apparently 'murdered' , which was a surprise. Didn't expect bloody minuses! Is it three games suspended for a red card, which means I'll probably have to transfer Friedel, an ever-present so far, if only for a while.
Still, at least Liverpool have kept the race very interesting, when I had thought United had it sewn up.

Anelka faces spell on sidelines

Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka faces a three-week spell on the sidelines because of a toe injury, according to the French Football Federation.

Anelka, 30, played the full 90 minutes of Chelsea's 1-0 Premier League defeat at Tottenham on Saturday.

He was assessed by the France squad's medics before being replaced for the World Cup qualifiers with Lithuania.

Chelsea have yet to comment but Anelka may miss the games against Newcastle on 4 April and Liverpool on 8 April.

Anelka is currently the top scorer in the Premier League this season with 15 goals but his last strike came against Aston Villa on 21 February in Guus Hiddink's first match in charge of the Blues.

However, if he is sidelined for his club, the forward's loss should be tempered by the recent return to fitness and form of Didier Drogba.

Thanks for info. Maybe UBC will have a rerun at a convenient time too. I have some tinkering to do. Are Villa losing it altogether?

I have, of course, counted up to 9 myself at Anfield!

Mmmmmm.... :-k
Ryan Ruled Out
Posted on: Wed 25 Mar 2009

City defender Ryan Shawcross has pulled out of the England Under 21 squad through injury.

Shawcross had been called up for the double header of international friendlies with Norway away on Friday and France at home on Tuesday.

The 21 year old was only brought into the squad on Monday following the withdrawal of Newcastle United's Steven Taylor.
They Must be saving him for the League me thinks...wouldn't want to risk serious injury by playing 2 friendly internationals..!!

For Brian.....!!!

Friedel wins a reprieve...
Friedel was given a straight red card during Aston Villa's 5-0 defeat by Liverpool on Sunday for bringing down Fernando Torres in the penalty area when the Spaniard was through on goal.

The FA upheld Villa's appeal and the American's red card was wiped out with reports emerging the decision had provoked a concerned response from senior referees.

Yes, thanks 'Beer Monkey'.

I had already heard from one of my three football mad sons back in UK. Subsequent to my post, I did catch a re-run of the game. Liverpool on their game and Villa were very disappointing. I didn't realise Agbonlahor didn't even start . Fortunately, the sending off of Friedel didn't affect the result of game. Presumably, in retrospect, even the penalty shouldn't have been given? Having been a referee at only junior level back home, I do have some sympathy with referees. Lots of history about United winning pens or not having them given against, but I bet the majority of the Kop were shouting for one. I'm not being critical. I'd do the same. But very difficult for ref to make an instant decision under that pressure. Again, technology?
