bad weekend for me,only 40 points.no torres, ronaldo and lampard as captain only scores 4 points! also fulham concede 3 goals at chelsea, not good for my defence.
but beer monkey only gains 10 points.lucky for me.it could have been much worse.

Re: Fantasy Football
I have finally played my wild card for the games this week so a new look Onionbaggers will take to the field this weekend. Hopefully I can gain some respectability and move a slot or three

At least you had a captain Sean. Some of us misguided fools put our faith in an injury prone Liverpool player.souness wrote:bad weekend for me,only 40 points.no torres, ronaldo and lampard as captain only scores 4 points! also fulham concede 3 goals at chelsea, not good for my defence.

Re: Fantasy Football
So glad i didn't click submit when i have been messing around with the 'squad'....Never did fancy El'Torres(and never liked Ronaldo ..but couldn't resist, he might come good this week) so that idea is well and truly buried...thank god for Auto subs Ehh Galee...i bet you was fuming when you saw Torres was not in the line-up...i would of been minging and i know a lot of FFL managers were..!!!...was bad enough with Ron7 out, but i did have an idea he would be( rotation )....2 more 'final' changes for the last few games, it really has been fantastic, only a couple of months to start again...a bit wiser next time.
Yeah just a ten point gain Sean, can't see me doing it...its not impossible, but with similar scoring between us it looks even-ish on a weekly basis, i need a break...captaincy is important, missed the Arsehaven el'capitano this week, was convinced Ireland was going to score big....3 goals...but not Irelands.. ...nice to see stevie G back playing, and i have a poor defence, only Baines is solid, but the money has been spent elsewhere.
This game is Mainly luck, but also a little good planning does come in there.
I/alan still flying along, and Roy hope you choose wisely...

Re: Fantasy Football
I was hoping to catch up on the geezer who is top of my head 2 head league. 2 weeks ago I lost due to a 4 point hit. I wasn't to disapointed because the leader was getting hammered in his match. This geezer was 24 points behind his opponent with 1 player to score. What happened, he had Fabregas, who was also his captain. 32 bloody points for one player to win his match.
This week he was losing again. Guess what, that donkey Carew comes up trumps with 9 points and he wins his match by 5 points.
Either he's the jammiest bar steward under the sun or he's got a time machine.

Re: Fantasy Football
Carew has been great since his return...but we can't get everyone in our teams as much as we would like, i watch players week after week scoring decent points, but with out taking point hits it is frustrating that i don't have that player....but thats the game, it is fun...well sort of, and works the brain but brings out a little aggression too...
I wasn't worried about head to head but should have been from the start, only the last half of games i have been working on that to, worked up the league, but above me there is too many points gap to won't be going higher.
would like to join more leagues next season.

Wild card is valid until deadline so I can still chop and change with no penalties should something go wrong tonight

Re: Fantasy Football
Great score by Ralph too... I need to catch Chris but 8th may be as good as it gets for me... Arshavin has been good to me. I wish Liverpool would have bought him...souness wrote:bad weekend for me,only 40 points.no torres, ronaldo and lampard as captain only scores 4 points! also fulham concede 3 goals at chelsea, not good for my defence.

Re: Fantasy Football
I was preparing an argument, that it was easy to pick as many players as one could afford from the Big Four and it would guarantee a successful Fantasy team. So I may be a bit slow on the uptake! , but a quick look at the players' points tables suggests that's not necessarily the case - not this season anyway.
Six from the top 23 defenders are Big Four, 7/22 midfielders and 7/24 strikers. Interesting that the star players don't dominate as much as i would have thought. In the real world it is, of course, rather different.
So, my stubborness not to select ANY players from the big boys has meant a reasonable season. We're not quite 'done and dusted' this season yet,but what shall I try next year?
A team of Club captains, one of home-grown players only, one-legged little people? As the likelihood of my real team making it to the Premiership seems light years away, would it be Mission Impossible to put together a Fantasy team of ex-Palace? Probably.
We'll see.

Re: Fantasy Football
I take it you meant the blonde and NOT the Palace eagle mascot?
Certainly, she had more chance of scoring than any Palace player. Ahem.
Not sure I've figured out this attachment thing, but Palace do have two new strikers.
Agree, totally off topic but .......

Re: Fantasy Football
You wondered correct galee ...but Did the arsehaven yesturday when news broke, don't think he would been a good scorer this week anyways, so he did me a favour, was not planning for him going out a few hours earlier though.
but the problem lies...who will be captain..??.....who will play both games.??...

Re: Fantasy Football
Ehhhhhhhh, who said ArseShaving was out? He is not red-flagged on FF... Ralph did what I forgot to do and made Gerrard captain. I logged in at 11.40am, too late.
According to BBC Arseshavin is in the line-up. 4 more from him will do nicely...
