The wife went to Bangkok this morning to see her sister.
She will be back tomorrow.
She left me some food in the fridge for this evening.

Her son comes home at 18.00 this evening, fries himself some eggs
to eat with a plate of rice. which he sat in front of the TV and ate.
A long and hard day at school I presume.

I went down the road at 18.45 to check on my neighbours house.
I come back at 19.30 to eat.
The food is gone, the son has eaten it.

I had some bread and ham left over from lunch with my friend.
I had offered to leave it with him but he said take it with me.
Thank you my friend for my supper tonight.

This reminds me of the Thai Pyramid.

Yes, you are completely at fault Othello.
You were at home while your wife's son was at school. You had ample opportunity to eat everything in the house before he came home. The fact that you did not do so was a clear indication that you were not hungry.
