I'm from Nong Khai.

It's mostly dirt soup and young twigs.

The odd insect for dessert.

Starbucks is ok, but overpriced for a cup of coffee. As a confirmed vegetarian, I see little use for Mc'Ds. Maybe when the come out with a tasty tofu sandwich...

They actually have their own car park opposite, through the gates.

where pray tell, restaurant or home. as i have bad luck on NK rest., usually eat dinner at DI DI's. lite meals elsewhere, danish for burger, though last couple times were just ok, he needs a new scale. but not a bad burger. sugar fix at rudy's, and that's about the extent of my fine dining experiences in NK.

Bacon & Cumberland Sausage were purchased in Makro
same place i purchase mine, though bacon lately hasn't been looking good. luckily laos restaurants clean them out occasionally, and they restock. use the cumberland for my baked beans, and a fine sausage on it's own, in roll with some mustard. also goes well with egg for brekkie sandwich. though i stopped eating cheese, or what ever it is, besides salt and yellow glue, being the main ingredients. 8)

thanks 747, will have to give them a try next time. 8)

I try and eat Thai food when I can but honestly, if you want to try a variety you almost have to
bring your own menu? There is a stuffed omelette ( ไข่ยัดไส้ ) kai-yad-sai which is really pretty
good? Unlike the flat thing with pork it's filled with vegetables and other good stuff and what I
wouldn't give for some melted cheese in that? Might have to bring my own and give to the cook?

What Do You Eat...............healthy

Post by laphanphon » June 14, 2009, 12:43 am

from an aussie article, link for full report.

http://www.news.com.au/dailytelegraph/s ... public_rss
IT'S cheap and tasty but full of fat: Pad Thai has beaten pizza to be rated one of our unhealthiest takeaway dishes.

Australians spend on average 10 per cent of their food budget on takeaway dishes that are mostly too high in kilojoules and drowning in fat and salt.

A survey by consumer group Choice compared popular Thai, Chinese, Italian and Indian dishes with pizzas, chicken and fish and chips, and found some Asian specialties were laden with nasties.
