very short lived marriage

Post by izzix » June 21, 2009, 9:55 pm

from stickman this week
http://www.stickmanweekly.com/StickmanB ... ishBar.htm

Another only in Thailand story this week, the events of which happened to a Danish victim. He met a girl in a beer bar, fell in love with her and married her. They had a big party and there was the usual transfer of wealth - ring, gold and cash from him to her and her family. They took their honeymoon in Phuket. She received a phone call in the hotel room and spoke in Thai. It was obvious to him that something was up. He went into the shower and when he came out she was gone. He searched for her and couldn't find her. He has not seen her since! Unfortunately for some of these women, marriage means a big party with a farang guy with lots of money coming their way. Soon after the party they revert back to their own ways and feel that they can do whatever they want!

The Thai women don't just look for the farang. About 2 years ago my wife's uncle (Thai) married a Thai woman. About a week after the honeymoon, she ran off with her Thai boyfriend. Taking with her a total of about 500k baht in cash and gold.

A while back I knew a bloke who got married, had a couple of kids, bought a house, car and all the other bits and pieces only to find his wife was having an affair behind his back while he was away working. The outcome was a divorce and not only did this bloke lose his beloved kids, but he also lost his house, car and just about everything else he had. On top of that he felt obligated to pay a sizable montly amount to his cheating ex wife towards the kids.
BTW - this is a story of a falang marriage 20 years ago (mine) - so as far as te OP is concerned, the Danish guy wasn't really a victim at all, he had his fun although it was a bit trumpy and short lived.
One other thing, the falang in the story mentioned above ended up with a loveley Issan wife, had more kids and lived happily ever after........still is.

I am with OT on this one!!!Danish victim was an idiot waiting to be a victim.Somewhere along the line infatuation and ego stroking got mixed up with ''fell in love''.

He just paid a higher price for being with an attractve lady than he wanted to,like possibly a majority of the rest of us.

Actually, these stories get very boring ,but are good experience stories for those falangs that don't have a clue when coming here.

Although it is sad,it is the guys that make the same mistakes over and over again without looking at their part in the relationship or assuming any real responsibilty for the outcome, that intrique me.I often wonder whether it is a state of denial,an overinflated ego or plain stupidity??? ](*,)

This is a fair point. It DOES happen to Thai men as well, just doesn't seem to get
the same sensational news play. Though I dare say, they may have some recourse? :?

OH, Old timer, have you a bit of too much Scotch, or Vodka, while posting?

I'm sure many have done so.

I don't know Izzix, and he doesn't know me, but his style is admirable.
I simply appreciate what he does, and I also believe some of it, is in mere jest, and just for some entertainment. I like his posts, for the most, but not all.
I just think he's an OK guy. I like him. He's cool, and no big deal.

He's just expressing himself on an open forum in his particular way. There is no harm.

Have a chill pill, O.T., relax, and enjoy.

Life is very short, because you will always be a dead man, and history, sooner than you think. This is always a true equation.

There is no need to be a Neanderthal, unless you prefer to show to the entire web, your inability to be, ah, oh a ******. So, if Izzix and I, are homos, that = you are stupid, and most likely a conspiracy theorists.

It's OK to have fun today, because you most likely will be a faded memory tomorrow.
