Don't you just love this country ! Like I know a Thai woman, she has a Farang B/F.He visits her several times a year.When she knows he is coming, The Thai B/F moves out.Then returns when he's gone.

Sad but it so so true.For us residents when the visiting farang depart, it seems to be me the Thai lady only wants a money fix and then get back to her normal life once he has departed.

Yes everyone must know of at least 1 example(i can put my hand up for many over the years)........so thats a lot of cheating and lies.....ohh and cash.

On reading the thread, it appears from comments and observations made, that thai people do not lead a life where there is an emphasis on the future it appears to be a here and now approach. For those expats who are in a long term live in relationship, there appears to be stability. For those expats who attempting to maintain a long term relationship with their would be partners there is concern / mistrust, whilst the thai national goes about living her life on a day to day basis which involves addressing her need for sexual activity.

I make these observations as l recently posted regarding the cost of hospitalization at AEK for a young village girl (13 yrs )who is experiencing life threatening illness. The girl has since fled the village. The attitude of the village extended family is not to be concerned about the girl until she returns to the village if she does, hence the belief that thais live in the here and now, am l wrong?

i forgot to mention just before the gal got married to the Norwegian, about 1 week, i had a 3some with her and her sister in BKK ,they arrived on the overnight bus just out of the blue at 6am ish .
and also yes there was the cops wife who was a teacher,very attractive women ,spent the night at a motel then she demands a greenie in the morning . I learnt to my horror 6 months later she had AIDS ,and was not at the school anymore .i was sweating for a while . Later i learnt that she had infected another teacher who was after her money ,as she had gotten a 1million insurance payout when her cop hubbie died of AIDS previously .he knew she had AIDs but wasnt worried as the cash was more important than his life .they are all dead now ,but i am lucky i wasnt infected but i know some others who are from the same circle .

=D> =D> Spot on Saint!In regards to them having a Thai B/F,it might not be that he treats her so well in our eyes,but that they ''understand'' each other!Cross cultural and language barriers make it difficult to ''really'' understand each other and be able to relax.The free and easy joking around is missing,a lack of fun is present with to much seriousness!!!!The languages just don't translate ''pure'' enough and if the parties don't have ''outlets''(same Nationality friends) to play with,there is always the possibility of infidelity or possible breakup.Afterall,it is very difficult to live a funless existance for a long time!!

If I could make these two post a sticky and at the top of the relationship thread, I would. I now have hope some will read this and understand a bit. The above does not apply to all couples, just the majority.

Assuming they have been used to it in a prior life, I can't understand how anyone would commit to a long term relationship without having first experienced "free and easy joking ..... fun" in that relationship.

Let's be honest if a girl meets a farrang and a move is on the card's for her out of the moo ban into a brick house where the bog has a chain she will go for it. Put up with the old guy for 2 years then kick him out move the family into the new home everyone's happy. If the girl is in her 20s think how much she can make in 10yrs if she marrie's 3 fools.

Thanks saint for making me see sense again! I think sometimes i can get wrong footed in my mind being so far away, both in miles and time, from someone i so so care for. But, back on track again, Thai mental hospitals can stay a mystery still!

Then the cops see how many they can snag off for not wearing helmets and try to get some tea money. Moving violations? Mai pen rai, too much work to catch those ones.
