Re: Cable in Udon
There seems to be a difference between Home & Udon TV (UTV) because along with what you listed I'm getting CNN, CNBC, MM2 & Filmax (out of Pakistan), but not getting SciFi or Channel NewsAsia. The sports channels I get are S5 & S3, have know idea where their based out of.
Re: Cable in Udon
I presumed from Suede Africa but recently S2 has had Sky Sports news during the afternoon which has been good regarding the English football divisions and lately all the transfer talks.papaguido wrote: The sports channels I get are S5 & S3, have know idea where their based out of.

Re: Cable in Udon
What cable company would that be? We still have only the usual 66 channels!
Re: Cable in Udon
There are only 2 to choose from, Home & UTV. I have UTV and only picking up 65 channels. I believe Bob has Home cable judging by the channels he listed. Also, he's suggesting to run the Channel Scan feature in your TV's menu to tune in more stations.lassebasse wrote:What cable company would that be? We still have only the usual 66 channels!
Re: Cable in Udon
Thank you Papa 100% correct in both cases...
From your earlier post, yes Sx are the South African sports channels. There are, I think, 6 different channels. Which ones we see seems to depend completely on Home. So can be any of them, on any of the channels. I have heard it is possible to phone up and 'request' a particular S channel on if there is a particular sport on one of them that you want to watch.

Re: Cable in Udon
It's good to see zone reality and BBC world news are back. Plenty of sports channels to choose from if you like your sport, unfortunately I don't. Oh well you can't complain for 300bt per month. I'll need to do the monthly re-tune to get the extra channels.
Re: Cable in Udon
For some bizarre reason I can't get zone reality, maybe I need to reset the TV and do a retune.
Here's a complete list of channels as shown on their brochure including Thai channels:

Re: Cable in Udon
Well thats very annoying
I am not getting any of the channels on Bob's Home Cable list after the Fashion Channel even after trying both Auto and Manual tunes.
What do you mean by resetting the TV Lee?

Re: Cable in Udon
Maybe I am on Udon & not Home.....(The bills are all in Thai ) I know I was on Home at the last place & assumed we were when we moved..maybe we switched to Udon....I will ask TG when she is around.
There does not seem much correlation between what I get & what Lee is showing on his list...
There did not (about 2 years ago) used to be ANY difference between the two. I must admit I thought that there still wasn't - but there pretty obviously is from what Lee & myself are seeing...

I assume there's a factory reset somewhere. My channels are all over the place so I'm going to look for a reset button and start again.Roy wrote:What do you mean by resetting the TV Lee?

Kevin
As ou wll probably know cable TV has nothing to do with satellite tv, although sometimes cable can use satellite feeds but as the picture is retransmitted through the Analog cables quality of reception can vary immensley
There are 2 legal suppliers of satellite programming. PSI and UBC. PSI only invoves buying the equipment without a monthly subscription but I understand from friends that most programmes are chinese or Indian. Not sure whether they have Fox news. You can purchase 'pirate systems' without the need to subscribe to UBC but as an honest man I contribute to UBC ( Actually renamed TRUE visions). There are also steerable systems available but I'm not sure which satellites are within the footprint. Thailand is very sensitive about the content of their programmes and if you're looking for adult movies you can forget it. It is not possible to receive SKY as the footprints do not extend to south east asia. Someone may correct me and say "you can if you have a 50 metre diameter dish)
Anyway we have home cable which although English speaking programmes are limited it seems good value for 350 baht per month. We also have True which for me is not good value(gold package)
Hope my little post helps
