Yes, I was aware what Galee meant, but at the time of joining UM I didn't. I found it amusing that Thais couldn't pronounce my name, hence Galee.

Will I re-invent myself under another name? No, I'm quite happy with this one.

I agree, good on yer, Galee. Changing names is like changing undies or knickers when they get dirty and soiled. Besides, Thais probably pronounce your name differently than the one for residents of the house of rising sun, eh? They are guh-lee and yours is Gaa-lee. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Me own mum would be so proud that I kept the nick she gave me, polie.

try growing up with ..........LA......... as a first name, pronounced as 2 seperate letters. and people actually ask what my nickname is, or usually what it stands for, then never believe you when telling them it doesn't stand for anything. though easy to remember, as i can't remember anyone's name until a couple meetings.

^ Well, the only places that I would call whorehouses (actually, I wouldn't be crass enough to call any place a whorehouse) are gogo bars and soapy rubs, but you will find '*****' in every single place of employment in Thailand from my experience.

Surely not Actually Every single place of employment there could possibly be..IE: Butchers shops, Bakerys, Candle Stick Makers, Metal Fabrication (Welders), Zoo's. Police Stations(apart from in the cells) or Gold Shops etc etc....to name a few where you wouldn't expect to be able to find a '*****'......

can take any term and put it in french and it sounds "classy" it hurts to admit it but it's true.
