That is my understanding PH, although it might be a few hours before kick off - one of the experts will say. :D
Yes Danny $hittu is a defender with Bolton....4.0 Mill (19 points in total last season)

You might want to wait till tomorrow before making your final choices. Quite a few International matches last night so maybe injuries to kick in (they do not appear to be 100% up to date on FF very quickly)

Yes,the FF is not very reliable on reporting injuries.I find the best site is www.physioroom.com and click on the link for English Premier League Injury Table.
I've had to make three changes already for injuries that were not reported on FF.
Also did a bit of tinkering with the squad yesterday....I wasnt happy wiyh my choice of second striker....but this tinkering left me with just 5m to get a midfielder.
Who to get for that price ? Not a great choice but I came across I.A.'s mate Maschcerano who seemed a snip at that amount. But last year he only got about 79 points. Why ?.....maybe lots of bookings and not many goals....decisions,decisions !

Shittu, very unfortunate name.Probably the worst was the German International of the 1990's called Kuntze....anyone remember him ?.....always made me smirk a little when his name was mentioned by the commentators !

Thanks for those tips, guys. I'm going to need all the help I can con y'all out of not to finish last. Unless farang makes about a hundred transfers during the first month again.

No matter. Finished 11th out of 13 teams last year but it was fun and expect the same this year.

Another question....with the World Cup happening next year, wonder how this will affect the players on our teams in Premier Football? Of course, they will want to play for their home countries but will the World Cup take place after May 2010?

The World Cup in South Africa takes place between 11th June-11th July 2010 so the players have up to a months rest,in theory, from the end of the Premier League season.
Of course there is always the chance that an English team will be in the UEFA Champions League Final just after the English seasons ends.
So every player with a chance of taking part in the World Cup will be "up for it."Youll find that fringe players will be particularily keen to push their claims for a place eg.Defoe of Spurs who scored 2 for England against Holland last night.

Yes PH. There are still a few (about 3 for most countries I think) qualifiers to be played, and then maybe some other qualifiers on top. In the European qualifiers I think only 1st. time qualifies, 2nd. may have to go into a play off to qualify. When these are played there is usually a weekend off for the Premiership - so not much problem unless they are South American players.
The final kicks off on 11th. June & finishes about 11th. July, so well after Premiership has finished.

Baddiel & Skinner did a skit on him on Fantasy Football back in the 90's. The had a tenor sing Nessum Dorma with words along the lines of, "We wanted them to play like Klinsmann, we wanted them to play like Strunz, we wanted them to play like Bierhoff but they played like Kuntze, played like Kuntze, played like Kunnnnnntze." :-({|= :-({|= :-({|=

Baddiel and Skinner always remembered for "Footballs Coming Home" released in 1996 just before the Euro Championships in England.
Certainly one of the best football songs ever.....amazing how time flies.....13 years ago now.

Yes, think I fell off my chair laughing. Weren't the Germans all in blond wigs? - or perhaps my imagination is on the loose. Much to my three English sons' amusement, I am through Thai/falang marriages related to a German, so more tact and diplomacy now required!

That's one problem solved.
According to Zidanes list only 3 more to go and he hasn't mentioned Foster, which makes 4.
Hopefully Zidanes list is out of date. If not I'm in big trouble. :(

Made 2 changes last night.
This morning I chickened out on Foster for 2 reasons.
1. He's only short term. Saves taking him out later and using up a transfer.
2. I wouldn't trust SAF as far as I could throw him. I think he'll rotate his goalies until VDS comes back.

After BM's little "red herring", all I need do now is sort out the Gerrard problem. :D

Well, I had Gerrard in my lineup but, even if he plays tomorrow, how effective can he be with any kind of groin problem? Thinking Torres will be a better option for me this week.

Have until 5:30pm to change me mind a few more times then? Cool.

Well I have a team, but a bench of 1 (in reality) as have 2 injured on the bench. Both are due back "August" & I want them long term, so do not want to replace & then have to transfer them in - I think I will need those transfers to get rid of some of the 12 fit ones after the season has started :D :D
That is it - come on kick off!!!!
