Socialism vs Capitalism

TJ, that piece was hilarious! Quoting Pravda, the spearhead of Soviet Union and Russian propaganda, themselves quoting an English only blog of Russian propaganda aimed at Americans! Does ANYONE on this site ever look at source material??? According to the blog, it was Western Marxism that was responsible for Russia's earlier historical woes! Oh, the irony of someone of conservative belief being sucked in by such a piece or even propagating the propaganda! I guess it worked and I guess they are working on the angle that those ‘uneducated masses’ will also be sucked into believing it. The whole thing was rather off topic, wasn’t it? Unless you are saying that most all of Europe is now communist or Marxist, which I am sure any of our European forum members would take issue with; I thought the thread was about socialism versus capitalism.

Thanks for providing me with some levity for the day. By the way, there was never a Wiemar Republic; it was the WEIMAR Republic or Weimarer Republik (primarily free-market capitalist system). To give a short history lesson, it was the political right that undermined the Weimar Republic, blaming the socialists and Jews for their problems (sounds rather like the present American conservative movement- just change to your favourite ethnic group(s)). After the Weimar Republic ended, the world’s favourite politically far right leader took over, Adolf Hitler, who threw those nasty people to the political left into concentration camps (that is what they were originally set up for: communists, socialists and social democrats, similar to the US Democrat Party) followed by his favourite ethnic groups.
