There is room for both fine establishments and I would have thought logically that the Irish Clock would be or should be buying their freezer stock from this new supplier in town.

competition is always a good thing, keeps things well priced here, though if the Clock started buying from there, i think a price increase would be warranted, as i've been there and would consider it a niche market, high end for myself. plus, i haven't got a clue what 99 % of the products are, my yank ignorance shining through.

breakfast is still a personal enjoyment at home, my way, and damn cheap. and no need to shower and go looking. it is breakfast afterall. if i'm already up and showered, it's lunch time, though a full breakfast for lunch isn't unthough of, but rare for my.

will need to do some comparison browsing, now that things are well established and running. although my car/mb seems to have auto pilot/parking when near the Clock or Nobi's, damn good chili yesterday, by the way. welcome change to my usual, been a while.

enjoy the choices, 3 fine establishments, CC, I'll have to take the word of a fine customer base, quite a few i have respect for their food reviews, as we enjoy the same. happy munching.

Can someone remind me on which days is the traffic allowed down the Soi

odd number days, park on irish clock side, even, nobi's side, and make sure you park the direction of traffic, illegal to park against traffic. they did add signs in english, but at end of soi near wattana rd.

I am 99% certain it is LA - but it will be Chili Con Carne as that is all us Brits are used to. So possibly quite a large amount of red beans in it. To be honest, before mentioned on another thread I would never have believed that 'chili' could come without beans. So just a little 'heads up' that if it is a Brit restaurant 'chili' is almost certain to have bean in it...

Has anyone tried there Gammon Steak, I've always looked at it on the Menu but never tried it ??

I tried the Gammon Steak and thought it was great. I have tried it with the egg and the pineapple. I like it with egg the best. Coming from Texas, I had no idea what a Gammon Steak was but Steve convinced me to try it. I'm glad he did.

I've noticed that the "Clock" now have a number of Indian dishes listed on their "specials" board.

Has anybody (on here) tried them yet?

If you have, a few questions, if I may.

1) Are they Indian,Indian - If so from which region?

2) Pakistani, Indian?

3) Bangladeshi, Indian?

4) British (Curry house) indian?

OR......

5) Udon Indian?

Also, are they any good?

Only curryholics need respond!!

I have not sampled them yet ZZ as I am out of Thailand at the minute.
I do know that Mali went to Bangkok (quite a while ago now- 7/8 months) to do a couple of weeks' Indian cookery course that was running there. I would imagine that the 'style' will be the same as the Indian food available in Bangkok. I would imagine that would also be the source of spices etc. needed for the dishes...

I stayed at the Irish Clock recently. The room was very pleasant and well appointed and the service also good.But when who is that individual who parks himself on the computer on the mezzanine level? He hogs the darn thing all day. When I asked if he'd mind if I spent a bit of time on there he basically told me to get lost. I don't think he's a guest either. Bit of a shame really.

There is lot more room on the Mezz floor of the Clock, for a network of PC's for those of us who don't want to bring a laptop with them. I would not mind paying 20 baht for a hour, and refreshments on tap.

On September 24 Guinness will celebrate it's 250th anniversary which they are calling Aurthers Day. http://www.guinness-storehouse.com/en/Arthurs_day.aspx I wonder if the Clock is doing something special to celebrate ??
