Lads I am 53 and paid a stamp only from 18 to 21 when I went to HK and then switched to Class 3 ..... believe it or not I got a cheque last year as I had over paid ... and we will get pension at 65 .... later the starting age wil be going up

i have just been looking for info for the direct transfer of pension to thai bank and in the section for thailand there is no mention of direct transfer . has anybody been contacted by state pension to see if they want their pension sent this way???

tafia, i had a look at the pension website before i made my post and there is nothing i could find that tells us how the system will work. do we contact them , do they contact us?? this system is now supposed to be up and running in several countries this month. pensions state that they send pensions in pounds not local currency

See below extract from Pension Website
From October 2009 additional countries will be: Bangladesh, Bulgaria, Colombia, Egypt, Greece, India, Indonesia, Mexico, Morocco, Nigeria, Pakistan, Peru, Poland, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey and Yemen.
Payment will be made in the local currency of the country in which the bank account is held. No charges are made for this service.
