Very good prices, often giving discounts on purchases and at least one English speaking pharmacist.

I used to buy my meds in the pharmacy in the Big C shopping center, until I found out that sweet old lady with the friendly smile behind the counter was charging me double.
I would like know: It is opposite the market or on the same side of the road as the market.

Thanks.

JS, if you try to buy sidenafil citrate "blue pills" it can cost very dearly in Udon. I am holding on to a big stash from my cambodia trip, and may part with a few kamagras.

the pharmacy across PTI wanted 600bt for 2 generic viagra.
There are several: could yo plase tell me which (going from 7/11 toward NK).

Thanks

PM shouldn't be neccesary. There are 3- 4 pharmacies on this 500? meters strech. Which one is it?

Thanks.

To all: I drink too much, so I need Samarin, Folic Acid, Essentiale, Zinc for my liver. B1, B1-6-12 and Lechitin for my brain. I have a lot of anxiety so I need around 3-5 tablets (5mg) of Diazepam (Valium) a week (not a day).

Some days I never leave my room - I have the telephone number of a tuk tuk driver who gets me some water, food and a few beers.

I would like to find a pharmacy where he can do same same (I write what I want - he gets it).

Thank you.

I've used several different pharmacies in Udon and have always been treated well, which includes being charged the same price as everyone else.

A successful day.

I tried to go to the Rama pharmacy today - only had a few beers first to get the car into APM (AutoPilotModus). NoNoNo - I ended up in a may be 5-700 meters long funeral march.

Well - after 30+ minutes trying not to kill pupils and students running around on Prajak Road (Do Thai people have eyes? Are they able to turn their head left/right?) and avoiding around 10 BIB, I found myself in a small soi where the car could rest and regain some calmness.

Alas - only Chang and Leo (my former favorite - but too toxic for this jaded farang). But the local samlor - sleeping - got me a Heineken from a shop nearby. Samlor VAT 20 Baht, and another 20 for the chair rent in the noodle soup shop I was sitting in.

I had to do some serious thinking. From the totally confusing movements of the BIB, I sherlocked out that the parade was going somewhere south/west. Another beer - the car had been resting and was fit for pharmacy. Heading north on Udon Dutsani Rd.

We found the place opposite Ban Huay market. Looks nice - even has a sign that says 'Consult your pharmacist'. But the old chinese b.... - who served all the local populace that came after me first - couldn't even find vitamin B1.

She called out for a younger woman who politely said they only had B1-6-12 now. I asked for the price of Lecitin 1200 mg - 750 Baht (it is supposed to be good for your brain: and now you know I need it - why would I write a post like this if I didn't have brain trouble?). Nope, KKK and out I went.

Checked time on the phone - more than 11am and less then 2pm - got a beer from the seven-shop 20 meters north.

Crisis mode. I have left my room - ventured outside - for this ----?

Another beer, looking at the black fumes from the buses and all the strangers coming and going (while counting pick up cars with no licence plates (I can remember a guy on the forum who was fined because the licence plate was partly covered)).

Wondering how the fck will I get out of this ----, I began walking (from the seven shop) on the right hand pavement towards NK. Passed a shop selling rice, a gold shop ... and hit a pharmacy I have seen for years, but never entered.

The middle aged (I guess 60 is old) chinese gentlewoman had everything I asked for - except Folic Acid. So she sent her daugther to get it from a place across the street somewhere. And the Lecitin was 250 (not 750).

Got a chicken steak hamburger (you need to eat - even if your dog wouldn't touch it) from seven - instructed my tuk tuk - man (who by chance was sleeping across the street) to memorize the place.

The car was smiling - home we went.

So now I have a Pharmacy Delivery.

Anyway - thanks for the thread - it made me venture out in fresh (sic) air today.

Philo,
As much as I enjoyed reading your post, if I were that miserable living in Udon Thani or Thailand in general, I would definitely MOVE to someplace more appealing to me.

Farang Friendly Pharmacy? For my money you can't beat Boots. I use the one in the center and the new one in Carrefore. Both have nice pleasant English speaking registered pharmacist. Will order without deposit anything you want not in stock. Will ring you when it arrives,or if there is a problem meeting promised delivery time. The price is taken from a fixed list, so presumably is the same as for Thai's.For comparison. I am saving 3,000bht on my 3 month prescription compared to what I was paying at AEK.How friendly do you want?
Ageing is a privilige denied to many .

I use a Pharmacy near the Ban Chiang Hotel for my BP meds. I was recommended to go there by my wife. However it is not Farang friendly. First time I went I was pleased to make a saving on what I paid at a Pharmacy in the complex. The next time I asked the wife to get them and the price was even less. Reckon I'm saving about 50% on what I paid in the complex.

On Soi Katoy about 150 meteres down on the right hand side of the road if walking from the Uni there is a pharmacy, not sure of the name but it has one of the green crosses on the street. I had need to visit there a few weeks ago and the pharmacist not only spoke almost perfect english, she did not overcharge me on what i had to get
highly reccomended
