Re: Fantasy Football 2009/10
Yep some good scores this week with many getting above the average and an very, very good score from Rob Taff.
Had a decent enough Saturday but Sunday was a complete disaster for me, 10 points from 5 players and Rooney got 8 off em Lost ground in the FU League and a place I will try reverse praying in future, it couldn't come out any worse.
Yep I'm still looking up at ya BM but you forgot to mention the H2H League, did the Onions beat Soi Sauce? Why yes I believe they did
I will admit to good fortune there, we were all square and I thought it was my second draw on the trot but Zayette got subbed in for a non player and lo and behold the Onions went top
Next up MIA IA, has Raquel eaten him???

Funny you should mention Alan cos hes not posted for a bit.I saw him regularly in the Complex at the Honey Bake cafe on the ground floor having a coffee and reading the Bangkok Post.Roy wrote: Next up MIA IA, has Raquel eaten him???
We used to always have a chat about the footie and I'd commisserate with him for being a Liverpool supporter !
Anyway last Wednesday ? I went in the Complex and the Honey Bake cafe seems to have closed. All the tables & chairs have gone....and so has Irish Alan !
I just wonder when they removed the fixtures and fittings if they mistakenly took Alan as well and he's currently sat in a lock up somewhere in Udon awaiting a new location !
Just when I thought our chance had passed, you go and save the best for last.

SHIRKERS MANAGER CHRIST ALMIGHTY UNDER INVESTIGATION FOR BETTING SCAM
The Statto's Shirkers manager Mr Chris Talmighty is today being investigated by the FU League over a betting scam. He was widely reported (in this publication) as saying that the "shirkers" would not win their home match this weekend, and that he had actually let his players go "out on the p**s" before the game. After the shocking performances by his players in yesterdays fixture, and the fact that an ex-shirker (of many a match) managed to score againt his hapless defence in the 97th min of a game (reducing their points even more), is thought to be an indication that Chris had prior knowledge of what was to happen.
His comment after the Manchester derby "Well that was a game and a half, wasn't it" is thought to have been a reference to the amount of "injury time" played (afew more mins would have made it a "game AND A HALF).
Mr Talmighty, she Shirkers players, the referee, and the Spurs team (who capitulated to Lampard & Drogba allowing them "easy" points are all to be spoken to by the FU League investigation commitee before next weeks round of matches.
It is understood by this reporter that Mr Talmighty has spoken with the clubs owners (over a few beers) and that he has the full backing of the clubs board, and will remain in charge for the forseeable future.

For once i had a bit of luck. Nani didn't play, (again), fortunately Ricketts came off the bench with 5 points to his name.
Needless to say, Nani has gone.

Oi you bloomin' Scouse type Scouser ....... not so much of the "elderly" if you don't mind .......... and for the record I'm a cockney (almost!!). I always come out of the woodwork during the season, unlike some who only appear when their team is doing well.

Yes,statto,Newcastle two points clear in the Championship so welcome back.stattointhailand wrote: I always come out of the woodwork during the season, unlike some who only appear when their team is doing well.
I thought I had pulled off a masterstroke by making Torres captain only to find that souness,Mr.Roy,Robtaff,Ron Polehawk and Irish Alan had done the same
And Irish Alan still missing.....along with the waitresses at the Honey Bake cafe ! I wonder if the Irish Rover is involved in some lovefest in a lock up in Udon somewhere ! (only joking I.A.if you still have internet access)
Bob.....respected moderator and voice of commonsense on the forum....still next to last !If things dont improve arjay or,even worse,Lee could be taking over your team selection !

Zid, I would like to say that it is because I have not been doing anything on that site while I was in UK - which is perfectly true. However it probably would have not made any difference if I had been.
Now I am back in Udon the next few weeks will show!! A slow but steady climb up the table will make me content in my own mind. No movement, or worse, a drop will send my mind scurrying for further excuses!!!

Re: Fantasy Football 2009/10
Yeah, same for me BM. I had high hopes for this week. Not having Torres made it very difficult. At least he won't be scoring many points next week.beer monkey wrote:Well i for one am very dissapointed... .............i am going backwards faster than Usain Bolt.
Still going well in CYKI. No1 in Thailand, No54 in the world at the moment. Think I'll concentrate on that and give up on the FFPremiership.

And i have just noticed that i got the lowest score in the FU league (not counting 747Alan).......

Re: Fantasy Football 2009/10
LOL....you sense right, but i can't do it, seems to have payed off for polehawk though he did his a few weeks back, nice score this week too...80.
Whats more I have lost 1 million in value from a selection of players since i picked them.(some have been assigned cleaning duties already) 2 more 2 join some of them this week...Guess who..?..
The Culprits:
Hangeland...(lazy, not what he was..)
Eubanks-Blake.(sick note...frightened of the prem..?)
Jimenez.(can't be arsed..home sick..?)
Zayette.(mostly on the bench..and a Hull player)
Neville.(good intentions...but staying in bed for a few months, getting on a bit now)
On a lighter note have made 2 million on existing players.

Re: Fantasy Football 2009/10
Similar to me BM. Must admit I've been jumping on a few bandwagons early, knowing that their price will go up. The theory being that the more money my squad is worth the better it will be when I use my WC.beer monkey wrote: On a lighter note have made 2 million on existing players.
The problem then is, still picking the right players.

Re: Fantasy Football 2009/10
Its getting a little more bunched together at the top now with a few teams being capable of going top if they had a very good week and the others failed to perform. That can only be good, keeps it interesting, bit boring if there is a runaway leader.
I do feel the Onions have been rather fortunate in the last 2/3 weeks, relying on a single player making a big score. Think I need more of an even distribution of points between players to truly challenge and as I have a few of the same players that BM has listed on his rouges list I am at a bit of a loss what to do. WC?
Come on Ralph, are you trying to emulate your beloved Pompey ?
