Hi Guys,

Did'nt have much luck catching the game early on. Went to Irish Clock initially. Perfect picture no sound. Same in Top Mansion. The missus called back to Nong Bua Baan and asked the question re sound and got the big thumbs up on and sound and picture.

Turns out Irish Clock and Top mansion both run there TV from cable. Satelite still appeared to work so I charged out to go to the Sports Bar and what do you know. Closed on the day of worlds biggest sporting event. Found out the next day the owner (can't remember name) had fallen over in shower and hurt his back.

Ok option 3, jumped in a Tuk Tuk and charged over to Aussie Bar, opened door and was hit by the dulcet tones of Dennis Cometti commentating the game. Aussie Ella was saying they had problems also and could not get Australia Network and ending up getting it through the South African sports channel.

Lost over a quarter and a half but happy to get the rest

You displayed the indominable aussie determination which typifies the edge we tend to have in major international sporting fixtures.

Just an aside to the game for those of us unlucky enough to not be in the LOS for the finals we had to experience a huge dust storm which started in the southern states and swept northward to cover New South Wales and Queensland. It was reported that the dust storm was caused by a dejected Collingwood supporter who had sneaked into the Collingwood Football Club boardroom and was pining over the absence of this years premiership trophy and for some unexplainable reason opened the trophy cabinet.

Well I didn't make it out to have a beer with those rough, tough Aussie blokes but I did watch the game at home. Jolly good show I thought, very tight, low scoring but that was to be expected. My prediction of Geelong by 10 wasn't far of the money =D>
I had the same problem with Aussie Network, something that used to happen most weekends when they broadcast live events but to be fair it hasn't happened for a while. Unlike the owners of the bars that Kevro visited I did have the sense to try the other channels, complicated contraptions these remote control thingumabobs.
What was going on at the end though guys? I thought you Australians were rough and ready outback types! Geez I haven't seen that many tears since there was a severe outbreak of conjunctivitis at the local kindergarten

Hows the toe, has your better half needed daily physio and massage treatment after carrying you out the other day.

One of your Collingwood players fractured a fibula (Thats the smaller of the 2 bones in you leg)in the first few minutes of first finals game. Played onto half time with a fractured leg but called it a game at half time. On Monday they popped him into hospital and had a metal plate screwed onto his fibula. The aim was to have him miss one game with the injury / surgery and then back into action. The player was willing but the club decided maybe not so wise at the last moment. Makes a toe look pretty insignificant does'nt it.

Suppose its fair to say they put a lot into a season and pre season for that matter. When the end of the season comes around when they come so close to winning the holy grail it has to come out and we ain't allowed to punch anything these days. Maybe thats why the call it "blood, sweat and tears"

Hi Roy,

Been a few broken legs (Both fib & Tib)happen over the years and usually captured in all there glory by the TV cameras. Then replayed over and over again in slow motion. Not pretty watching a lower leg flopping around and the pain shown on the players faces and this is before they hit the ground.

Some players get back to there former levels but others struggle. Vossy from Brisbane got back OK but Nathan Brown from Richmond was never the same again (to name a few).
