wat did u do 2day?
Re: wat did u do 2day?
Joking about which point in particular? The party was more than real, the rest is just my dreaming again. Sorry, sometimes I just get fed up with mass hypocrisy. Trying to blackmail a cop would probably make me push up daisies for eternity. Stupid, but not quite that stupid thank you.
Re: wat did u do 2day?
Obviously I meant using the video the next time you got stopped!
I am with you on hypocricy, mass or otherwise! But it doesn't change how things are done here!
A cop,a friend of his or maybe even some other people, can do the very thing he cites me for!It is difficult to accept. But when the goal is ''money'' instead of justice, that is what we get, hypocrisy, inbred inherent corruption, part of Thai living!
Also, why most things are so ''cheap'' here!If they brought everything up to snuff, the cost of living would be higher than the West!
But don't worry, there is nothing about the Thai system that suggest those changes will ever take effect in our lifetime

Yes, I know, Thai living.
This probably not the right thread for this but...
"Even if corruption can be a useful means of bypassing inefficiencies in the short term, in the long term it tends to create inefficiencies of its own. Bribing, it turns out, doesn’t always speed things up: in a vast study of twenty-four hundred companies in fifty-eight countries, Daniel Kaufmann, of the World Bank, and Shang-Jin Wei, of the I.M.F., found that the more a company had to bribe, the more time it spent tied up in negotiations with bureaucrats. Graft also encourages government officials to keep complicated procedures in place, since that insures that the bribes keep coming. So corruption isn’t just a product of bad institutions and policies; it also helps cause them… Fighting corruption, then, is not only an ethical issue but an economic one.
Almost every study done in the past ten years has found that, on the whole, corrupt countries grow more slowly and have a much harder time attracting foreign investment.
" - Surowiecki, James
So, if in the long run, corruption is not efficient, then how can it help lower prices? I am definitely not an economist, but I doubt corruption and graft is desirable in a well run economy. Seems the USA is finding this out now Credit default swaps, with no long position to hedge against, is not "insurance," it is gambling. It is like having a short interest in a stock that far exceeds the total float of the stock... hmmmm

Re: wat did u do 2day?
I've been building a helicopter electrical loom today, for a flight display to be tested on a cockpit rig. I designed it last week but the Tefal Heads asked me to modify it this morning so it would work through a different connector.....bugger. Tomorrow I'm going to fit it and test it to see if it will work.

Re: wat did u do 2day?
So that was what all the blue flashing lights going past the door was about. And i thought they were after me. Paranoia is a wonderful thing. I was just cementing some tiles.

Re: wat did u do 2day?
My former employer is digging his own hole.... I am not that keen on duplicating effort! Strange, in this time of recession, must be the only place locally that cannot find employees.... I wonder why. Went to work today to drop off my Uniform and cards; my last official day (but not fit to work anyway); got my pay ...... £26.39! I feel sure it is not 1974.....But still some holiday pay to come.
Now just need to feed the leech once more, cough up the pocket money for next month and I can pack my bags for Udon next month! 16 days and counting...

But al least still harvesting in the garden; another kilo of tomatoes today, some beans still left. Will be able to eat for another few days. But sure that autumn is now here, need a jacket outdoors. Definitely time for that flight.
Re: wat did u do 2day?
I did some more revision today for next Tuesday's exam in Technology Strategy. Looks like I might be shot down in flames on this one - things don't seem to be gelling when it comes to retention of facts. Never mind, I'll have a crack at the re-sit in May.
Re: wat did u do 2day?

Thanks mate, good to see you're not over doing the training. I've always believed a rest is just as good as activity, it gives your body a chance to recover.Ter wrote:Good luck Steve for tuesday give it your best.

I've just been listening to "Sounds of the Sixties" from BBC2 London, (yesterday's programme). You can listen to it here:

Re: wat did u do 2day?
Got up today and no work put the Kettle on and went to switch on Computer........ Nothing as we had had 2 power cuts last night I thought there must be a reset button somewhere but alas no. Down to a Computer repair shop I've never tried before and greeted by a young kid about 20. "What's the problem Man" I tell him, "give me 5 dude" I think I have to do that silly hand slapping thing, but no he takes the Computer into the back room. Sure enough five minutes later he comes out with the Comp and says 50 bucks man it's all yours. I cant believe it so I question him, and sure enough he produces the old PSU (power box) and says he's replaced it with a new one. If my first impression was bad, my final impression was I could have kissed him so look out fellow forumites, I'm back in action =D>
