As for attitude, go and see for yourself. My friends and I agree that Atitude is a problem with most Udon ladies, but, sure you may find a good one. Obviously not everyone is bad. On the subject of Mr Tongs, yes i agree you do get some good looking women in there, but not all are single.
My wife occasionally likes a "girls night out" with her friends and sometimes end up at Mr T's. Inevitably some guys come and try and chat to her. I understand this, it's a bar/disco where people go to meet, but she does get frustrated with the farang who can't take the hint despite the "sorry not interested" and flashing the wedding ring. Many farang think that just because they can flash the cash they are Gods gift to women. They are not. No means no and guys trying to meet a women should respect this.

One of the wonderful things about LOS is that there is something and someone for everybody. Paul’s friend above can take home the most stunning bar girl in Pattaya -IF he has the money, and he can keep her as his house pet IF he has the money. This is SEA and this is the custom and it has been this way for hundreds of years. Those with money will have access to cheap labor, servants, and women and men if that is their choice. Well, I am one of those geriatric dudes, and I can still dance and get whatever girl I want, if she needs money. I also lift weights, have trained with Marco, and do a total 1000 sit-ups and leg raises every day.

My first criteria for a new lady is that I must be at least 35 years older than her mother. Taking offense at this is taking offense at the culture and customs of Thailand and SEA. My wife is gorgeous and 22, and from a very, very poor family who often had not enough to eat. Those who criticize the Old Man with the young lady do not understand that now her father has a buffalo, and a new motorcycle. One sister is in Uni, and the other is always no.1 in her class but now will have the opportunity to become a doctor.

Before, old age garnered respect from the young, but this is hardly true with today’s Wailoon (teen agers).Grand dad may be considered an Old Pervert in USA, but this is NOT the USA and this why many of us are here. I accept things as they are in the culture and country I live in. I been in SEA for many years, I speak Thai and Lao. I am a Buddhist and follow Buddhist teachings. (Thailand is really not a country that follows the teachings of the Lord Buddha).

Guys who are in their fifties or forties that think the young Thai girls are more attracted to them than the Old Fart, may be quite mistaken. The girls and women of Thailand are with farang because they need security. If you think that that is not true, just stop the money. But do not be hard on LOS ladies; their lot is difficult and there are no safety nets. Women with Thai children have very little chance of finding a new Thai man, and if they find one and the woman has daughters, the daughters may be at risk.

I understand that all may not agree with my posts and that some will take offense. I mean no offense to anyone, and I am certainly not positive that all of my ideas are correct: they are just what I believe from having lived in SEA for many years. I try to treat all men women with the same respect, it makes no difference what their status and work are. Lord Buddha teaches that Love and Respect are equal for all, love to be love means that it is equal and given equally to all persons, and not special for some individuals and different for others. The American Indians had a wonderful saying, “Do not judge any man until you have walked in his moccasins. “

I think that is a very different post from the one you made before monaliza.
I also do not think anyone can object to your posting if they are expressed as they are above.
They might disagree with your conclusions, but such is life, different people, different perspectives, different conclusions. I realized (long ago) that no one knows all the answers, but few people know none at all... Just a matter of finding what is right to live your life.

And I too don't have a problem with an age gap, a cultural gap or any other kind of gap - because its nobody's business but the two people concerned.
What my post drew attention to is those people who think (as in Galee's post) that they are God's gift and try 'hitting upon any woman with a pulse - even (as Gary's post highlighted) she is married, attached not interested or otherwise - the very people who assume that if you are female and Thai you must be for sale.

To drag this back almost near the starting topic - I think the general consensus is that if you are looking for some 'over 25 year old' company for a few days - then head to a bar in the evenings. If you are hankering after something longer term - then take your time and one day it will happen - exactly as it does in every other country in the world - there is no magic formula in Thailand (or Udon)

I've been coming to LOS for 12 years now, and looking for a good place to hang my hat when I retire. Came to Udon in January, and was immediately taken with it. Over the years, I've dated Thai women from different parts of the country, but not with any intent of finding "the one." Met a lovely woman in Udon, quite by chance through a mutual friend, while having dinner and a couple of pints. We hit it off immediately, and are serious about making a go of it. She's 43 yrs. old and I'm 56 yrs. old. She's financially independent and doesn't want or need my limited resources, she just wanted a good guy that would love her and treat her with the respect she deserves. She's a beuautiful woman physically, and even more beautiful inside. I think I'm extremely lucky to have met someone like her. My point is that there are really good women out there and that they aren't all the ATM/farang variety as some would suggest.

The trouble with Mr.Tongs is that it is seen by many farangs as a pick up joint where you dont have to pay a bar fine.
Yes,many think they are Gods gift.Hard to see why because many of them would be seen as the dregs of society in their own country.
I wouldnt like my lady to go there without me because many of these balding,pot bellied,farangs in their mid 60's can be persistent and boorish !
Maybe a better place for her to go for a drink with friends and little hassle would be the recently opened Brothers Club or Tawan Daeng.

I will also add that if you are serious about finding a life time partner, there are much easier places and much better women elsewhere. I would go to the Philippines and I would not waste five minutes in Udon. This comes from a farang who speaks Thai fluently, lived in Udon for 14 years and Thailand for a total of 22 years, and has been a frequent visitor to Thailand for 10 years before. I now live in the Philippines, in Davao, and I like it better. The people are loving and kind, and the women and families not greedy, for the most part.

I've heard that the Philippine women are cheaper than the Thai ladies but that they aren't anywhere near as beautiful or affectionate, it that true? Also if your new girlfriend is so pretty please post a photo of her, I have been thinking about trying out a Philippine dating web site, I have heard that you can find good girls there that aren't near as money hungry as the Thai girls.
