Ok and yes I did get through the so-called red tape, I do not think it is a new sherrif, it is the fact that the NEW office wants everything just so and the old office ( NongKhai )ain't giving anything to the NEW ( Udon Thani ) office.
I even know of a person who was told by the old office to do something as the NEW office did not agree, he had to do everything again as even though the man at the OLD office told the man in NEW office it was alright, the NEW office won. Now tell me what other country would that happen in, Eh !!!!!!!!!!

Where esle I don't know. Always safiest to follow what the new guy wants. We all will probably be finding that as time goes along.

Friend did his 90 day report just over a week ago and was told Udon could not handle anything complicated until the New year.

My passport was just renewed.
I need to have my extension stamp transferred to my new passport. I have the letter from my embassy asking immigration to do this.

Is the Udon office equipped to handle this procedure yet?

I need to visit immigration for my 90 day check-in by the 24th and was hoping [-o< I could do both at the same office.

If any of my fellow members are going to the Udon office this week...could you ask them if they do this procedure, and post their answer. Or perhaps, someone could post Udon Immigration Office telephone number?

This is getting bloody ridiculous, been nearly two months now and still only processing 90 day reports. I believe Sakon Nakhon which opened on the 19th Oct is doing the lot so what is the real problem here?

Wouldn't be so bad but for NK making it so hard for non locals.

Udon Thani immigration has been processing visa extensions and re-entry permits at least since 2 November, 2009. That's where I got mine.

they were doing extension and exit stamp, and i believe everything when i was there early this month, the 5th i think. taking quite a long time with each process, crossing them t's and dottin those i's. i believe full service now.

On the way to Aek Udon hospital I went to the Udon Thani Airport Immigration Office. As others said it is to the far right in the old domestic terminal in the old departure area. Went there to get some TM-7 forms for a future tourist visa extension. There where a few tables put together with one officer and his side kick who would do the stamping of any receipts. A few people behind them in what looks like a copy room. In the cashier's officer there where about 3 female staff waiting for business.

I asked the officer if the place was permanent and got a response to the effect it was. I asked if they do visa extensions and got a firm yes. I asked if they are fully open and got another firm yes. The two people in front of me had one doing a 90 day report and the other doing a re-entry permit. There is no formal system of taking a number or such. It is the 'notice where you are in the line' and make your way to the front when it is your turn. While there I was 3rd in line with a few others coming in. I was there about 10am/Monday/16 November.

If this all holds true, for me, it is great! I hate going to the BKK immigration office, especially now that it is moved out to a new spot.

Today I went to the Immigration Office at the Udon Airport to do my 90 day report...Arrived there at 12:10 fully expecting the office to be closed for lunch...Much to my surprise it was open...Went to the window for 90 day reports and there were 4 girl students handling the report...I gave them my passport and report form...2 minutes later they motioned for me to come to the window and pick up my passport.

Well. for years they have always torn off the bottom portion of the form and given it back with the passport...No bottom part was attached...Instead a little note stating that I had reported and that my next report date was Feb15th...When I asked, they said this was a new procedure...Knowing Thai Immigration procedures can vary from office to office,I asked for clarification...The head man came over...I asked for his confirmation that this was OK...I just didn't want to try to leave Thailand and have a Swampy Immigration officer ask me about my report form..Assured me that it was no problem...

Stoneman in my experience the good people at Immigration departures are not interested in whether or not you have done a 90 day report. I have been here for 2.5+ years, have never reported, and have never been challenged when leaving at Don Muang/Swampy/Nong Khai.

Just retunned from extending my retirement visa...process was swift and smooth with very polite immigration officer...very little documentation as required in the past from Nong Khai...documents asked for are as follows:
1) application form tm7.
2)copy of all passport pages.
3)copy of departure card tm7.
4)copy of family (yellow) book.
5)proof of income letter (notarized)
from my home country embassy.
Note: the officer asked me how many
baht to the dollar am i getting...i told
him and he calculated my annual income
based on my proof of income letter.
Amen...that's all folks.
PS: the wife brought along 5.94 pounds of
documentation accumulated over the past
5 years, just in case.

Perhaps it's this caviler attitude of "I don't care what your silly rules are, I'll do what I want," that gives Immigration folks the chronic hump.

I know several expats that have lived in the Nong Khai area longer than I have,over 6 yrs.,that never do 90 day reports!A couple of them told me when I moved here and missed a report,to not worry!

A few years ago I decided to get current,went to immigration and was told ''no problem,next time you go out of the country,come in 90 days later''!Eventually, I decided to cross over to Laos and start a new 90 day period to get back on track,because I saw a tightening in other visa policies that I felt might indicate problems could arise and now do 90 day reports regularly just to be on the safe side of things!

I have seen some ,IMO,very stupid argumentative behavior by falangs a few times at Immigration!Actually I have always thought that some of them were quite lucky that they were not arrested,obviously not knowing the law and power that these folks have over the expats life.

Overall,I think the officials of Immigration show more patience than I would

the fine starts at 2000 baht, for the 1st day being late. some enforce it, some do not, i was lucky enough to get one that did not, thank you much. but gave me the impression, i was very lucky i got her instead of anyone else.

i have a b visa and usually go out ton nongkhai every 3 months... will i be able to do my 90 days at the airport instead

- Depends were your official residence is located...in accordance with I-office official area of coverage.

I live 3 km from airport.. tried it anyway and they said i have to go nong khai... also he said there's no such thing as 3 month only 2 month or 1 month.. which is complete crap... oh well

No bank letter stating you balance and bank book allowing them to check you spend some money here???

Although I use the certified letter of my embassy (new letter each year) Nong Khai always required to show bank book AND same day letter from bank stating balance.

Not married and not having yellow book, my GF always need to show them her blue book and declare I live with her, although technically it is the other way round.....

Copy of ALL pages of passport seems over the top....

Seems you also need 1 photo, I need to extend my retirement early Jan 2010.
