Where is everyone?

I can't talk for other nationalities but for the British , you would have to understand the class divide . Yes it does exist despite 20+ years of Socialism proclaiming all are equal .In England we have two separate types of social clubs, the Conservative and Labour clubs The latter often called 'Working mens clubs ". For what reason I can't imagine as it seems to presume that the members of the other group don't work . Which is obviously incorrect .Now despite there political titles many members of each vote for the party not represented in the club membership. But there idea of social interaction is none the less polarised to the extent that a member of a conservative club would feel very isolated if he were to visit a labourclub , as would a working man visiting a conservative one .An obvious example is the entertainment on offer . A working mans club typically has a rather bawdy comedian making jokes about the bosses or the mother-in-law, whilst the former is more likely to have a speaker on current affairs . So understanding that, most Brits prefer to stay in a social mix that reflects their own tastes. Now this could develope into a very prolonged debate worthy of its own topic heading but I just use it to illustratethe answer to Stans question .BKKSTAN wrote:The NMGT doesn't have 2 sides!A couple of the people have some resentments about this site, but it is their personal conflict! Many of us post on both sites as friendships and interests cross any conflicting positions!
It does seem that most of the guys that exclusively post on Udonmap, very seldom attend NMGT's!why,I have no idea, but the 10+ plus regulars( a few times ,around 20 posters in attendance)have a good time ,plus the ladies all sit together enjoying their food and gossip =D> =D> =D>

The last remark first": Too much smoking is affecting your eyesight. I am never on my own in the night market. My wife and/or my son are always around somewhere. It so happens that I much prefer their company than the alternative on offer .english.farang wrote:
It is untrue that there are 2 types of social clubs in england, there are far more for example bowling clubs, tennis clubs, liberal clubs, fishing clubs, british legion clubs ex service clubs oh nonsense, I cannot be bothered to go on.
Truebrit I think that your post stinks of snobbish inuendos, typical of your I am better than you posts that you normally post.
I can now see why you sit on you own at the night market :-" :-" :-"
Thank you Tilo. I understand I have a new nickname of POFTilokarat wrote:True Brit, you have inspired posters on UT to create a two-page thread on your remarks. You have power.

I find I tend to get on best with those with whom I share similar interests, have a similar outlook, share a similar standard of behaviour etc, which is why I tend not to mix with those whose behaviour I find inappropriate or unacceptable.
Awfully sorry, I'm off topic but I have the urge to point out that the British forces messing system comprises three messes not two. They are:trubrit wrote:Now you, as an ex-army officer who worked his way to a commision through the ranks, as you told me, should know that there is a mess (SocialClub for our American readers) for the sergeants and OR's, whilst the commisioned officers have their own. You as a one time member of both will have experienced both .Or have you forgotten? :-"
