The upper 100mm round steel post, being lowered into the top of the 150 base support, At the top of the 150 support is a 8mm plate with a round 105mm hole cutout to take to the upper post, which goes inside the lower square post by 600mm, you can see on the top lower post on the edge of the plate, some concrete, the post were filled with concrete, and and a 16mm reo bar which you can see at the bottom of the round post, , the concrete prevents the steel post from crushing, where the angle brace will be welded to the column, or you could use thicker wall steel, concrete is cheaper and more versatile

You can see where the labour is holding the post 4 x 6mm plates that will be welded on top of the base column, and stops the upper column from going through the base column, as well as giving some extra support to the top post, from bending

Here's the post design complete, with lateral braces both ways, and 4 header braces on top of the bottom column, bracing the round post

Upper roof bracing, with foil under the roof sheeting, later stage will line under the roof with colourbond sheets . Just to the right upper corner you can see the under side of the verandah roof lined with colourbond sheets, never needs painting, and no mould

Front view, with the Map trailer still going and in use, to the left of the trailer you can see a 50mm blue PVC pipe which is filled with a steel bar and concrete, hand rail for the stairs, or for the old codgers use the ramp. the sun just hit the bottom of the post support, left side of the trailer, giving the home complete shade, stage 2 will be a second canterlevered awning, going from the existing one to the fence, giving shade area totally to the side of the home, and a place to park the car out of the rain sun open workshop area.
One of 9 water jars 18,000lts used to collect water, later stage will be a 100,000lt tank out the back

Unfortunately, the rainy season has kicked in early and the drilling ops have been pulled, as they wont be able to drive out. Seeing a few boats already heading to Booralooa, or what ever its called, Was there in 1995 on the Round Oz Rally.

Pass on the McCrap thanks, I might have a change tonight, Barra and Beef, with garlic and lime sauce.

And Strike me Lucky !! they serve Cascade Premium Light, on my way to heaven again tonight.

[quote="wazza"] Seeing a few boats already heading to Booralooa, or what ever its called, Was there in 1995 on the Round Oz Rally.

Your close its 'BORROLOOLA', had 6 trips up there from Sydney, long drive. Plenty of barramundi, crocs, land snakes, sea snakes and a few other nasties to threaten your life. To readers who are not familiar with this place, its in the middle of nowhere in outback OZ. Happy Cascading Waz.

There are two ways of uploading pictures to UM.
1 is from your own PC directly to UM & these stay for ever (well as long as, anyway :D ). As a copy of the picture is saved by UM.
2 is to use a photograph hosting service. In this case it is only a URL that UM sees, not the picture. These remain as long as the rules of the hosting service say they remain - or all go immediately if a service goes out of business. :D
