All,
We're looking for a place to take a long weekend with the families (three young kids and a young teenager in two families). The guys want to play some golf and the families want to swim and/or just lay around and relax. We would like to keep it reasonably priced (whatever that is), so no exclusive country clubs where the green fees are 2000 THB.
We're from Khon Kaen but getting to the general Udorn area is preferable due to family situations and the feeling of escaping the home area.
It would be in January or later so no worries about the holidays.
Any suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks.
Tony

Tony, the only place that meets your requirements in this area is Victory Park, near Nong Khai.
They have log cabins for overnight stays and swimming pool. Golf is around 1000-1500baht. Unfortunately, the course at the moment is not in the best of conditions after years of being immaculate.

Galee,
A late thanks for your response. I thought I would get notified of a reply to my post but either I didn't or I missed it.
How about a resort that has a pool and things for the wives and kids to do and golf courses for the guys within a few km? We were talking about the trip and decided we could drive a reasonable distance to a course rather than needing to have one right there.

The two best local courses are easy to get to from the town centre. Wing 23 is at the airport and Sri Thani is about 10-15 minutes out of town on the way back to Khon Kaen. Both are 9 holes courses.
Resorts with pools?. BB Resort and Englishmans Retreat spring to mind, both outside the ring road. Other than that it's one of the hotels in town.

Thanks, Galee.
I'd heard that the courses near town are 9 hole. We may try Victory Park. Somebody posted a comment on the web site (the link you sent) that, in his opinion, the course was OK. However, that could be the owner!

Yes, I agree. It is OK but not as good as it was. Victory is your best bet if you don't mind being out in the sticks during the evening.
