This is sad news, most unfortunate. Deiter was a good man with many friends. Condolences to his family. He will be missed.

Dieter has died. :( Of that I'm sure.

Other info not entirely confirmed but probably accurate.

1) He died of a heart attack.

2) His body has been taken to Sakon Nakorn for the burn today (Sunday).

IMHO, Dieter was the best farang cook in Udorn. And a nice guy. I'll miss his wonderful breads and pizza
and good sense of humor. We enjoyed a great Thanksgiving dinner at Dieter's.

Dieter made Udon Thani a better place to live for a lot of people.

My condolences to the family. A longtime resident of the area, he will be greatly missed. Any info on the funeral on Monday in SN?

I'll second all of that. There will be a big void in Udon eateries without his excellent foods.

His funeral will be tomorrow in Sakon Nakorn. Some people are meeting up at his restaurant at 09:30 to carpool or caravan to the temple in Sakon Nakorn.

R.I.P. my friend. You will be missed.
I still remember the last meal I had at your place... Your delicious sauerbraten.

Farewell Dieter.

The Rauch Kate was by far and away my favourite of the three German restaurants in Udon. I shall miss both your cooking and your conversation.

R.I.P.

I will miss Dieter: Our conversations and his good food that reminded me of my grandmother's cooking.

RIP. Adios.

Without a doubt Dieter provided us with some great meals. But his presence will be missed more than anything he had on the menu. Rest well old friend.

Is Dieter's wife going to keep restaurant open, anyone know?
The day Dieter died he told me how pleased he was that his Baker man had been with him for two years.
It'd sure be nice to have Dieter's great bread and rolls still available, a wonderful form of remembrance.
Again, R.I.P Dieter, we miss you.

WE passed through Udon early Feb, stopped to buy some food. I asked for Dieter, but it was fairly early morning, and he was still asleep. Yesterday on our way back from Laos, stopped in again. I saw the photoa with his B'day and a date a few weeks ago, so asked the baker. He told me Dieter sied of a "Brain Hemorrhage"(?).

We were shocked and saddened. We'd known him for at least 4 or 5 years, always a jovial host, and provider of wonderful food. We'll misss him. Far to young to go!

The restaurant is still open and busy, the food is still good. But not quite the same without him.
