well we waited and worried for rooney to get fit only for him to play silly buggers in front of the ref.and put his boot in to someone else's knackers then have a little push cause he lost his temper..will they ever learn.
Well done to owen H,joe cole and lennon, plus the England defence.and a good keeper.
But its the same old story....Penalties blah blah blah.
When will it ever happen........????

Got it wrong on all counts really!I hope the best team wins.
The best team didn't win. Though the best penalty takers (on the night) did.
Brazil went out to France.
Oh, frustration of frustrations, yet again!!
Rooney really should be forced to spend a month in Thailand, learning to be jai yen. Maybe even after he had stood on the guys groin, if he had walked quietly away, or kept his head down, instead of shoving the other Portguese player he might have got away with a yellow. Instead he adds insult to injury.
It seemed to me, he spent every opportunity, growling, glaring, and putting on threatening faces, which isn't going to go down well with referees. I believe this was the same referee who sent Beckham off for a similar offence some years back.
Surely the team were briefed on not rising to the bait or getting into these sorts of situations! He was set up, but surely, Rooney realised that he was the key up front striker and therefore it was vital that he remained on the pitch, particulalry with Owen long gone home injured?
The earlier and ongoing criticism of playing Rooney on his own up front seemed to be well proven in the match.
England when down to 10 men, then started to show some real conviction and still looked the better side.
Unfortunately, though not uncommonly, everyone who normally scores in such situations, when presented with a decent scoring opportunity, seemed to waste it, blast it over the top, or straight into the keepers arms!
I have to say, I can't see Portugal going much further!
Some quotes from BBC News:-
Hargreaves and Cole all "played a blinder".
"We are gutted that Rooney didn't keep his head. If we had played more attacking football we could have beaten them. And the referee should never have made Carragher take that penalty twice."
In times of despair like this, it is good to find a tale to warm the heart.
Jo Rolland is here with her new husband, Stuart. He is a "sweetie, a Scotsman, and a unique one. He supports England.
Together in tears: Jo and Stuart Rolland
She feels the Portuguese cheated. She says: "I don't feel the best team won. They cheated, it's a shame that teams like Portugal and Italy win by diving."
Stuart was there to dry her tears at the end. He says: "When I saw her cry I almost cried too."
At the end of the match, England fans did not leave - stuck in their seats and in the first stage of loss: disbelief.
Owen Hargreaves, the butt of criticism until now, sat with his head in his hands.

in the cold light of day now i have had time to reflect on yesterdays turn of events i can honestly say that wayne rooney is still a t*at, but can play great football, but not in this years world cup.
And Portugal will play 1 more game only,as they only won by the skin of Ronaldos pure white Teeth.
