I avoid AirAsia whenever I can due to several nasty incidents. If you factor in the luggage fees, which AirAsia charges, at the counter fare is not much different from Thai Airways', but you get treated as a human being, not a piece of cargo.

How can they charge you extra if you purchase a ticket with 20kg luggage limit ????
Re: AIRASIA BKK/UDON/BKK afternoon flight canceled Jul 1
for the whole month of June, AirAsia cancelled all morning flights from Bangkok to Udon Thani and vice versa, tsk. tsk. tsk.

If I fly with a bunch of heavy bags then sure I have to fly ThaiAir etc. If you do compare prices then you will notice AirAsia is about 50% of ThaiAir price. I get to fly twice as much. I dont mind the rules for a BUDGET airline. AirAsia has shown the other airlines how to keep prices low. AA continues to open new routes. ThaiAir is having trouble staying in business. Read the newspapers.
This was to notify all those folks that depend on the afternoon flight it no longer exist.

1/2 price fare doesn't do you much good if they cancel flights....threelegcowboy wrote:If you do compare prices then you will notice AirAsia is about 50% of ThaiAir price. I get to fly twice as much.

How often is the Air Asia morning flight Udon to BKK cancelled? I've booked this flight on July 6 to make an international connection leaving BKK at 13:00 on the same date. The Thai Air flight Udon to BKK does not give me enough time to make my international flight......

Never rely on either Air Asia to Nok Air (especially Air Asia) to deliver you to your destination in less than 24 hours of the scheduled time. Even Thai Airways has the occasional problem.
Further, I cannot blame them for canceling flights if they find they are flying empty aircraft.

Just a heads up on anyone who has to book a morning flight with Nok Air in order to make an International connection.
There is no longer a bus shuttle running between the two airports. I asked at the information desk at Don Muang the other day and was told, "public bus or taxi only".

Well, SOME morning flights left in June, because i took someone to udon airport for one. But i guess with the low tourist volumes currently cancellations are likely. Even more reason to take the bus!
As for shuttle between DM and swampy, I think it exists but not 'official' airport service. Therefore, can be interpreted as 'no service' by airport official I have had this problem before in Thailand - if not a service the person you ask provides, does not exist! Try asking 'At Here' travel for a coach ticket to Bangkok - will only give you an air ticket and not point you to bus station, no profit.
As always, getting good information is hard. The benefits of providing a consistent service are lost for short term gains.
