Now then perhaps Paul Stalker and his family money can buy it, rip the wings off it and transport the frame into some vacant land and turn it into an upmarket bar !

Jumbo Bar

I wouldn't mind for them to park the plane at my place, I won't charge 600 baht per day. ;)

Well, 5 million for that plane is expensive. The concord, the French gave to the German cost only 1 Euro.
And it can fly:-)

LOL

Im sure the Risk Assessment will be conducted, reviewed , approved. All parties notified inc TG, NOK and Air Asia and the Air Force, hate to see an aborted landing due to smoke and fire on the approaches to the strip. Oops forgot to tell the incoming flights. Well it should have been put out by now, but umm well, we mis-calculated the fuel vapour and how much those birds nests burn !

First time I saw it there was June of 2009.

OT was thinking about doing exactly that, I mentioned it on this thread sometime back. An outstanding Idea, however I was unable to get any investors - can't understand why ?.

sorry OT, seems u have been outdone .

Now then, OT's plans might go this way. Fitted out as a go go bar, in Udon with a few WFB 's as cabin crew.

First Class lounge will suport the Poles, and OT's cabin announcement goes like this.

This is your mamasam speaking, pls buckle in and hold on for the ride of your life.

OT's never been outdone, none of the planes on the website link you gave are gogo bars in Udon Thani, in fact anywhere in the world. I've googled "Old-Timers 747 A GoGo", and the names not been taken, so I've already made a bit of a start on the project.
Just got to buy the plane, convert it into a first class fully operational gogo bar, rent a bit of the car park opposite central plaza , transport the 747 there, plug it into the electric mains, fill it with WFB's and we're off and running. Piece of cake really.

OT....... \:D/

One year on and upon my arrival at Udon Airport, an old friend was still there. Now looking pretty sad with only one engine left, all titles removed and registration blanked out.

Wonder how long it will be before its cut up ?

Is there anyone with experience to do this at Udon ? My guess is NOT

Wonder if Orient Thai are paying parking fees !

It's goes against western thinking to park an aged/decrepit aircraft out in the tropical sun/humidity for over a year.....same same it makes no sense to build a home to 90% completion and then leave it vacant for a few years as you can see in several subdivisions around town. I'm on a roll.......same same it makes no sense to inventory (to the nth degree) all the unsold Christmas stock in Robinsons and store it for another year rather than clear it out on a sale. Same same some of the oooold shops on Phorsri Rd who have years' old (but new) appliances for sale at still-new prices.
Ahhh, it's no wonder Grasshopper wasn't able to hear the grasshopper that was at his feet.

Someone did mention, fees of 500 baht per day earlier in this thread.

With regards to parking something for extended periods of time,do the tyres eventually flatten or would they have some kind Thai staff to check the tyres periodocally, maybe use a footpump

Was at the airport earlier this week (22 Nov) and took a picture of the plane in its current state. Just in case anyone who's not in town is wondering about the plane - it's still there...
