Are all Thai Girls Immature or Child-like?

Hello All,

My experience of Thai women is that as far as maturity goes they fall well behind European and American women for their maturity. They more than make up for it in other ways however.

My question to you all, If like myself you have found them at times or all the time to be immature or child like how did you get around it? Did you just accept it or try to teach them about your culture etc.

This post is not meant to Insult anyone. I have a tgf and we are having some problems. Been hitting my head against the wall. Any help would be appreciated!

Yes, though some of them more than others..

I think a lot of it stems from insecurities, their culture and limited/lesser education. I do battle away to give what I feel is a broader and more balanced picture, but some things are almost impossible to overcome (e.g. pre-occupation with gold, "face" etc )

If that is not what you mean, why did you write it as a new thread heading?

To me, it is right up there with "Are you slumming it as an expat?" as the most insulting/inane thread title currently appearing under View Active Topics.

Careful Dermot, if you criticise anything about Thailand you will end up being called a troll and being abused.

As for Thai girls being immature, many, many are. I am lucky in that my GF is a nurse and has seen a wee bit of ----, but I have been with many bar girls and a non-bar girl who was as silly as one. Many are child like for sure and it's annoying dealing with them, however many ex-pats prefer them that way because they can control them.

Come On man! I just wanted to know what other people thoughts were on the Subject. I even qualified it so people would know I was asking a question not making a statement.

If you have nothing to add to the thread then please go bother somebody else. If you do have something to add then please do. But dont use my thread as a forum for your sensitivities! Start another one and Im sure you will get a hell of a lot of responses given your replys to other people threads!

Dermot, after I have read something like your thread title for about the 20th or 30th time (not just on UM), I have become a bit sensitive to generalities that bear no relationship to the actual situation.

You will find I can be quite helpful. But I can also be quite questioning when I believe something is worthy of being challenged.

If you write it on a public forum, be prepared to defend it. An alternative is to chose your words more carefully.

Another alternative JS is to do what your parents told you when you were a kid. If you dont have anything good to say then dont say anything at all. You obviously didnt read my post fully, otherwise you wouldnt be acting like a child yourself.

Again if you have nothing positive to add then please just go back to your keyboard and be the big stud you think you are from behind that.

In MY world, by MY (western) judgment standards, a lot of Thai's, men and women, seem immature. BUT, after digging around a bit and learning something about how "Thai's" think, I realise that in THEIR world and by THEIR judgement standards, I look a bit silly to them.

Can't say that either is right, but as a generalisation, they are different. But that's what's interesting, right? OK, infuriating at times.

Well no, my parents didn't tell me that at all. What they did suggest was that if I didn't have anything good to say about someone, don't say anything at all. Did your parents also tell you that?

Jack might not be 'everyone's cup of tea' but he is a long term poster on this Forum & 100% consistant in what he says. He is not a 'keyboard commando' but equally does not take fools lightly either - as is the case with a number of other long term posters. I think Jack is objecting to the generalisation "ALL" bit of your question....same as ALL Irish are drunks, ALL English are Bastards etc. etc. approach. It is hugely unlikely any racial profiling is correct & that (I think) is what Jack objects to.

I asked a question, an honest one that i wanted actual responses from people personal experiences. Bob mentioned you are may not be everyones cup of tea, Well you are certainly not mine and by trying to hijack my thread you have just showed what a complete wally you actually are.

If you had a problem about my question why didnt you post something nice that would have made me think about it than just coming out with the crap you did.

Pete you are off topic. It's not your place to take other posters to task.

(Jack) I chose to respond to the spirit or intention of the posters question, (not quibble about inferred generalisations in the title). That IMO view would have been the way to go.

I also forgot to mention another aspect of Thai girls immature behaviour, - jealousy. I've experienced some extremely childish behaviour resulting from jealousy and insecurity, eg. going through my telephone ringing up unknown previous callers and checking who they were. A previous (ex) GF even rang an opticians shop, to find out who I had received a call from.
