How to Approach a Thai Woman

Post by maikauzai » September 2, 2010, 2:23 pm

I would like to have your thoughts. How could I approach a Thai woman if I don't speak Thai and she doesn't speak English?

OK,,,,,, given the sensitivity lately about "newbies" and how they're treated,,,,, I'm going to take this seriously and take a bite of the apple.

Maikauzai,,, you really didn't give us enough info. Just as in the west,,,, there are too many variables,,,,,, such as:

1. What's her social status?
2. What's your social status?
3. What's her age?
4. What's your age?
5. What's her ethnic background,,, Lao, Thai, Issan, Muslam, Chinese, Meo, etc, etc?
6. What's your ethnic background?
7. Are you in a work environment or purely social?

Yes, the above could have an impact on how you would "approach" her. I'm going to assume she is a woman of character and class, someone you would be proud to be seen with anywhere.

In many situations you could probably use an intermediary to meet but the language problem is just that,, one of you will have to learn enough of the other's language to make it worthwhile/viable.

Now, I'm going to throw a wrench (I think the Brits call it a spanner) into the equation above,,,,,,,,aside from all the above,,,,, and given the above are all positive,,,, IMHO,,one of the most significant things in an approach to a Thai woman is your facial expression and eye contact. That first impression is very important and will set the tone for what follows. Do not expect to succeed if you have appeared loud, boisterous, drunk, smelly, uneducated, or a womanizer. Are you successful or do you have a chance at a successful future because of education, wealth etc.?

OK,, that's my opinion,,,,,,,,, so fire away gents....... LL

Hmmm.......maybe we need to define "newbie" :-k

Given that the OP joined in 2005, I am not sure he qualifies. :D

Taking this as a serious question so therefore giving a serious answer. I find a nice friendly smile works wonders but you have to be careful, for example . Not long ago I bought a new shirt in Robinsons and the assistant was very pleasant and friendly. Since then whenever she has seen me we have exchanged smiles . Imagine my surprise when just a couple of weeks ago a male colleague of hers brought me a red rose and a note with her phone number, saying she loves me .She had obviously misinterpreted the meaning of my smile . I hastily explained I was already married and although I appreciated her interest, I wasn't able to respond in a similar manner .So if your in the market this is a way in . A smile really does work wonders. For the cynics out there . I am neither young or remotely handsome and certainly not rich, so I truly believe it was the smile .

Were you buying a red shirt, Val? :D

Given your self-confessed lack of youth, beauty or riches, perhaps that is what caught her attention. :-k

Val, I would have to say I hadn't (to date at least) actually associated you with the word modesty. :D

In this context, I assume you are referring to a shirt with long sleeves, and a very high neckline.

A short answer, - you could try sign language.

Trubrit, did you keep the phone number, maybe I could give it a try. ;)

...Well I won't tell if you don't. ;)

 Hangsaboot,, "lee ,, whats your education, and status ,??"

Well, I could give a very flip response and say I've graduated with honors from WBU but that would be a lie, given the usual connotation that people expect; that I had been subjected to years and years of scams perpetrated by females of the asian persuasion, especially Thais. And I will state now that if I had to do it all over again, the years of hard living in the 60's and 70's in S.E.A.,,, I would jump at the chance. What a wonderful experience! And to all of the girls (women) I've known before,,,, God Bless them all,,,,, and thank you sincerely. I was very young but I think I went into all the relationships with my eyes open and I have absolutely no regrets. And then, by the Grace of God, I met my future wife, and my life changed, overnight. I would rather say that my higher education was from the S.E.A. school of Experience,,,,,, not that I don't have a huge amount of catching up to the expats currently living there full time.

So,,,,,, to answer the second part of your question, my status is "taken", not available,,,,,,,

Ok having put the newbie into the bin, I thought about offering a few insights but honestly this one I cannot resist.
#How to approach a Thai women.
Normally I walk up to them, on occasions crawling when drunk has the same desired effect, but walking if definitely the number one way. If you do not speak Thai grunt and smile if you are probably drunk that works too.
Buy her something small ( like a house or car ) that usually works but takes a tad longer.
Whatever you do don't flash money around makes them feel like your buying them, your not just informing her that you are as stupid as she thinks you are, and then proceed to attempt to empty your pockets of cash by putting everything on your bill and you poor sop are thinking this is great.
So advice before meeting Thai whether you speak the lingo or not, watch from afar, study the animal and notice habits. Thais are creature of habits eating, sleeping, drinking not necessarily in that order. Study the nocturnal habits as most hide during the day coming out at night like moths fluttering around bright lights or not so bright lights in certain establishments.
When you have made your choice, empty your pockets of money, and go meekly like a lamp to the slaughter, but realising that if you fall under the spell of the deep brown eyes and the incredibly sexy body your life will be changed forever, you will suffer money deprivation, you will join mindless others in your quest for happiness but are thwarted by the leech you have met.

Thai women I consider the 4 'F s of life are suitable for them Find them ,F***** them, F*** them, Forget them , that is their creed with foreigners only the other way around almost. ...........lol

Seriously, buy or borrow a small very cute female dog, like mine, put little bows on it,walk around the Night Market, sober, smile, every gal that shows an interest in the dog,you can engage with a smile! They will ask h the name, whether it is girl or boy.etc. etc.!If you have the ability to speak Thai, nit noi,you are on your way!

If you are like me,your biggest problem will be how to get rid of the wife and look much younger!

If she reads this Stan I think you have solved the last one .  Two questions though.
Why does it have to be a female dog? Do they actually lift its tail and look ? I've seen some pretty little males with bows. :lol:Which brings me back on topic with advise to the OP. Make sure she, is a she first or you may regret that smile . Or maybe not , who knows . TIT.

You do not need to find them, if you are worth having, they will approach YOU.

Female dogs are not so quick to pee,as the male dog likes to mark territory. The girls relate to the ''female'' dog better, even like the female names!I would think having as many ''smilie items'' as possible.would insure the lengthening of the initial contact and it might be hard to explain the use of bows on the male dog unless you are ''shopping'' for a she that is a ''he''
