I often have them with baked beans - but be warned, they can be a mighty powerful combination

Hi,
Love kippers been buying them in Udon for the last few years. they sell the Scottish kippers in a few places in Udon, very good. I brought back 5 pair when I returned from the Isle of Man last week, Manx kippers, still IMO the best kippers in the world, oak smoked with no additives, great. Hope the neighbours didn't mind the smell of them cooking.

Sadly not for breakfast because of work commitments, but I will be there!

Can I half-inch a jar of Marmite? ;)

To half inch, is rhyming slang "to pinch" but in this case to borrow or cadge. As a mate. I THINK !

Hello All.

Started serving the kipper breakfast yesterday and they went very well with excellent reviews , tho made the shop a bit smelly , as an addition we are now doing a kipper and CIDER breakfast ( 2 customers requested this yesterday) .......

The usual 2 boneless kipper fillets with a fresh bread roll and scrambled eggs - coming with a choice of a can of BLACKTHORN , OLD ENGLISH or HEREFORDSHIRE CIDER - all in @ 250 bt .

Guess wot i had for my brekkie ??

SP .... just for you come c me and i will assist with your marmite fix .

Hallo Pienmash and Chedd44,

Do we have à diver end meaning about the word “smoked herring (kippers)” In Belgium&Nederland, Then in England, Scotland or Ireland?

Because boiling a ‘smoked’(!) haring (kipper) will take the taste away from the smoking and will get all the good things outside as the fat&vitamin’s. The reason we eat them cold (He is already prepared in the smoking process isn’t?)

That’s why I have mentioned them fore a hangover in combination with a cold beer ;-)

Well never mind, I find it out next Saturday morning in person.

Frans.
