it's alright, no probs.
My wife was at the school. The two youngest boys that attend there put makeup on for the show. That annoys me more than someone shortening thier hair cut.

OT........... \:D/

When I have made a contribution or sometimes instigated a topic and see the indicator for a new post on that topic I open it thinking I will see what someone else has to say , whether in agreement or not . Then I am disappointed to see its just another pedantic remark about spelling or grammar which contributes absolutely nothing to the discussion .Why do some members have to do it . Surely if you have nothing sensible to contribute its best to say nothing . Don't they realise how foolish they look? :-k

I agree with Trubrit above and I would like to add what pee's me off also. When a posted starts a new thread and somebody posts telling him to look at old threads! Some people seem to think that Udonmap is their personal domain!

Yes I agree with that! Why do people have a dig at a posting that has bad spelling and grammar?
Who cares as long as its understandable .
On saying that if one has Google speller .You cant go wrong.Any mistakes are underlined and can be corrected.
To take the ride out someone because of mistakes in spelling just plain nasty and igorant! ....oops

well this has been long time a problem for udon map , as i read udon map many years ago , i was not interested to sign in, because of all the prejudices on this forum, why did i sign in now ? maybe because i have a little bit more time at hand now than before , and as a forum is about helping each other out , no matter what language you speak , how many tattoo you have , etc...., i was never shy helping out people all time i was here..., no matter what country they come from or what languages they speak.... , how many of the english ( UK), american , aussie can talk a language more than their own? , for example i can speak english, german, french, and issaan enough to make myself understandable...., we have a saying in my country , before you start criticizing other people , start with look in the mirror first...., also you must understand everybody is different and has different customs, what i have noticed the short time i am member is that many people here can not take critics, or are getting angry if you disagree with them, about what ever topic ,it looks you are being marked as bad , and many of your topics aren't getting any response or they put the troll stamp on you? ( what ever that is) , you can also see there are different groups made , and they constantly fighting each other with the result the moderator has to close down the topic...., and if you do not belong to any of these groups, they will pm to each other and mark you also..., wouldn't it be better to subdivide the forum into for example, anglo -american , non english , irish, aussie, others? etc, so you can all talk about what ever you want without having any disagreements, liking the same beer, food , talking the same language , ( dialect) ....,
ridiculous of course..., ( may be not ) , so for the other topic, i wish for next year that the udon map forum members will be more tolerant and understanding, and open minded to everybody , no matter what country or language,be able to take critics, other opinions, without start fighting all the time ,helping out everybody , not selected people or groups, may be you all learn something more , as i am still learning something new every day .............. whether i like it or not ,but accepting that we are ( luckily) all different.... ,
happy new year to all...( even to all whom do not like my comments..)

I couldn’t agree more. This was clearly demonstrated at the Pullman Hotel in Khon Kaen on Friday night, where following the presentation of graduation certificates to the University Students they had arrange an evening of celebration with their friends and families.

They were all there in there best dresses and suits etc, which complies with the hotels evening ‘dress code’ (subtly placed in rooms and entrance to the main dining rooms), and they all looked lovely.

But why should this bother the ‘falang’ gentleman who wished to show his tattoos to all (as well as his hairy armpits) in a grubby singlet, well matched by his camouflage shorts, hairy legs and dirty sneakers. He was able to serve himself from the buffet without competition as his odour was soon established not to belong to any of the food being served.

But, his money is as good as anyone’s and it’s his right to dress how he wishes in a five star hotel ‘cos he’s paid to be there, right? He has different customs, right?

I cringed.

Mortiboy, When I,m home in Belgium I,m using the English version off Microsoft Office 2010, When i do this, My wrong spelling is marked in red and I cane make corections, And copy&paste my post from there to the post reply.

Here on my laptop with Dutch software, i don,t have the English version Office, And I don,t like to use Google becaurse the alway,s ask fore registration, And sending a lot off comercial items to the e-mail inbox.

But I do my best to learn proper English, Even when I,m using some Australian slang, As here above with my answer to two famous poster ;-) lol.

Gulfman, Indeed, Every one have the right to dress as he want, But every one have also the duty to respect others right. In this case the "dress code" marked by the hotel. Hope he will wear the same outfit&odour when he go to immigration ;)

If you use Firefox instead of Internet Explorer then you can add on English Dictionary (UK or US ...not sure if Aus as well :D ) as an add on. Then when you type in anything on line it will spell check your typing in the same way. No need to register or give your e-mail...

Thank you BobHelm.

Indeed I'm using Firefox and have now installed the English dictionary and the add on "Quick Locale Switcher 1.7.2 made by Captain Caveman" (even the Aussie is available, but not needed ;-) )

Everything seems to work perfect, even the automatic language switch.

It is a pleasure to have a conversation with you, And watching to your new New-Year avatar. =D>

Frans.

PS: To all English speaking nationals, Watch out now, I will check your spelling :-" \:D/

Another thing that pissed me off today...

Post by KHONDAHM » May 3, 2011, 2:34 pm

So, I've been waiting 4+ weeks for my custom window "bars" to be delivered so we can all finally get out of the house together. It's an ivy themed design with no vertical or horizontal bars (other than the outer frame). The specs were discussed meticulously, including the color and positioning for the installation. I insisted on seeing periodic progress to ensure they were making exactly what we discussed. That got me one early example and a whole lot of "we make now" excuses for follow ups. You know what is coming...

They delivered it with the colors reversed! Who the heck would want white ivy leaves on a green frame? Worse, the red anti-rust paint was showing through the piss-poor paint job with white dribbled over green and green showing through white. Then, the frame was made to be attached to the aluminum window frame rather than the window frame blocking! So just pop out that weak aluminum frame and come on in! Further, the leaves are all bunched up in one area of the window rather than spread about like in the example picture I gave them. It simply LOOKS wrong without even knowing what it is. Ok, I can accept the screw ups with a smile. What I cannot accept is a smiling screw-up who stands there and tries to convince ME that is what I wanted. I made it clear, I had my wife make the specs clear, and we all made sure we were all clear together AND we called the guy repeatedly to see progress, but he asserts we should have said something before he delivered.

Oh, heeeeel naw...that took the cake! Still smiling and being jovial about it all, I had to excuse myself to go choke and slam a stuffed animal against he wall for a bit. Well, they are going to redo it all (seemingly) at their leisure. I haven't paid anything yet as the completion of a previous job they did for me is carrying them through until this one is done (not the same guy who did the fence), but we are stuck in the house as a family until it's done.

If the rains were common sense, Thailand would be a desert. Pass the migraine pills. Rant over.
