Thai women, either saints or sinners

Post by cumbria » February 21, 2011, 1:10 am

Hi Chaps,
its been a while since I posted but I have been rather pleasurably busy. I will explain. My wife died in labour on 31/7/08. My son died a day later. I was heartbroken as I loved my wife so much that unless you feel the same it would be useless to try and explain how I felt....
Anyway, in Nov 2010 my wifes best friend from Thailand (half Thai, half Norwegian) and from the south made contact with me saying she had left her husband months ago and wanted to start a relationship. This I felt was someone I could trust-I have a son and have to think of him first. Anyway the girl comes to the UK-she has a Brit passport and all was fine for about well 1 week. I am so shocked (stupid?) in fact this girl (extremely good looking) has never actually told me the truth about anything! I have never experienced such a compulsive liar in my life!
Obviously her husband knew nothing of her visit! I am astonished and feel so let down at her deception, this has really shook my faith in-well anyone! I have read all the stories about suckers in the past but bloody hell...
I knew my wife so well, she never told me a lie, we shared hardships together, she told me when her family had asked her for money...I find it so hard to comprehend that her friend (they met in the UK) could be such a lying bastard!
Sorry to bend your ears but this is a real kick in the nuts for me which I could have done without...I suppose Im no different than all the other suckers that I read about!

I am sorry about your losing your wife and son,I can' only imagine the pain that you had to go through!!

I surely don't want to make light of the actions of your wifes friend, but a couple of things come to mind and might be of help to you in ''letting go'' of your recent negative experience and feelings!

First,it was over two years since you had seen this woman, and assuming she was married to a falang at the time you knew her.Based on that assumption,I am guessing that she might have been your wifes ''closest person'' to associate with, rather than her ''best friend''!Best friends,in Thailand, usually grow up together, share intimately and have a high degree of trust, others are just acquaintances, because of circumstances(e.g.both married to falang, living close to each other, need to talk about something etc.)and have no more in common, including character, than being Thai and having some common circumstances in their married life!

I find that to ''let go'',I must first recognize my mistakes and accept my part in the development of my negative feelings!
Again, based on my assumptions,is it possible that you assumed they had compatible character, because they were close? And that in your vulnerable state of mind, you welcomed her into your present life without due diligence?I say this because you stated she contacted you as she was already married and going to leave her husband(that is a character''red flag'' to me,to be aware of possible negatives)!I would have ,hopefully.had some thoughts about possible alternate motives for her contacting me,especially if she might think that I was well off, financially!Only you would have any idea whether their was a ''physical attraction'' towards you!

How many negative signals in the form of deceptive guarded explanations and statements ,did you let slide before recognizing her bad character? From my long time experience here,IMO,the majority of the Thai gals marrying falangs are less than truthful and financially motivated without the emotional attachment towards us that we suggest is present in us ,towards them!

It sounds to me like you were blessed with a wonderful woman to marry, initially! That makes you a lucky man that respect compared to many.Because it is easy to be ''suckered'' here ,in the affairs of the heart, because we think and feel so differently than than the Thai gals !

Best of luck, mount your WBU experience certificate on the wall and when you see it,have a laugh and a new shot of awareness for the future!

Based on some of cumbria's earlier posts, this could turn into an interesting thread eg there was no mention of this Thai lady from the south when he joined UM on 31 December, and at that stage seemingly only had eyes for the large breasted "Sunshine" who previously inhabited an internet shop.

Definitely worth keeping an eye on. :-k

The Thai half is a sinner, the Norwegian half is a saint. Or maybe the Norwegian half is a sinner, and the Thai half is a saint?

Hi,
thanks for the help chaps! Misery loves company and it seems Im not alone! For the record Ive never used another name here or on any other board...and yes I asked about Sunshine? I will use this negative experience and print out the certificate!...also a chap asked me to paste his story up as he does not want his name to become common knowledge amongst Udon expats,

Hello !
i am sending you pm as what I say to you concerned my wife so could b embarrassing for me
Sorry about your loss.Thats so terrible!
We talking about Thai women. You DID have a good one. But Out here far and few between.
I have a problem with my thai wife . We been together over 3 years.
In That time she has cheated on me regular.
I have yet to prove it.
I let her go back to village every sat sun.as she has no friends here.
I have had text saying "I had sex with your wife she so hot"
Thai man called me up tells me his wife works in hotel see her check in hotel with man.
On the fone outside house whispering.
Caught her out at Nightclub here udon,(she was with couple of friend so could not prove anything)
never wants sex,
whats that tell you.?
Loads of other stuff too.
Yet .She always finds and answer! These people are the worse kin' liars in the world!
They are heartless !Ther'e only concern is money!
If I confront her she goes into one !shouts and screams at me says "'why you not believe in me?"
The last one is, because I dont trust her,I charcoaled her high heel shoes. They stay outside house on shoe rack.
Comes back Sunday, the shoes in the car.heels clean as a whistle.
Car wreaks of perfume, half drunk glass whisly back seat pocket.
She lies through her teeth. I scared approach her, for fear a scene.
For me, I would like you to copy paste this and post on udon map?

Thanks again, I do get some reassurance that Thai girls lie a lot and are good at it....

It sounds very true to me as a regular thai /falang experience for many!Whether or not this is a true personal story, who knows,it is really irrelevant,as is the use of ''pidgin English''in a post!
It is all about the money in all the relationships ,whether the girl is good or bad.Trust is the major issue, especially for those that have a large spread in age disparity and have put themselves in a financial vulnerability position!

Yes, it is a pity that we have idiots like Petemcc/rogerdoger/Krusher et al coming on here, making some of us suspicious of new posters with sad tales (albeit with a few inconsistencies).

Good luck to you too.

I think the problem is basically with the men and not with the women.

Women look for certain qualities in men: guidance and decisiveness.

If men are lacking these qualities, if they are following instead of leading, then women (not only Thai women) will lose interest and think of the man as being weak.

Well and truly fed up with the UK Vlad! Its cold, expensive and...well the list is endless. I am going to Udon to have a funeral for my wife and son-so not really a holiday. If I can find work there I will seriously consider it but my son is 8 and I want him to have a good education. We lived in Udon thani a few years ago and came back to the UK to have another child-it would have been much safer to stay in Udonthani.
Spent all of my money on funerals and solicitors but gradually turning a corner now and getting back on my feet.
Phew!
How about you Vlad whats your story mate? Barrow starting to look a little dull compared to Udon?

Thankyou Dermot, your words do help. I have to think of my surviving son before I bring a woman into his life, his Mum was a perfect Thai girl who wanted nothing from us but gave us so much-it will be impossible to replace her but it would be nice for my boy to have a female fuss after him.
I have been involved in suing the health trust who induced and mis medicated my wife...its just taken years., hence not been back to Thailand.
At 43 I feel too old for the dating thing but I know that I was so happy with a Thai girl...it will be good to be back in Udon thani with the in laws.
thanks again.

Jack. dont become a detective stay a synic.

Colin, it doesn't take much detective work to maintain some cynicism when it comes to certain posters.

The 3 year old (surviving twin) son who suddenly became 8.

Was it a typo? - we will never know because cumbria (aka ............) has bowed out.

Until next time. :D

I think the original post was genuine and even if it wasn’t it could easily be ignored, but not so on UM.
This forum has a small group of posters who seem to be the first to respond to any post, be it from a newly register poster or others, but usually posts directed at what they call newbies and voice their opinions on the sincerity of the post. One in particular starts the ball rolling then the others quickly voice their suspicions.
Some more than others, and it seems that to be in their purple circle you must be posting around 1000 posts a year to be in the position to elect yourself as the chief critic and sensor.
To state that they are annoyed by posts from complete strangers shows their elevated status, so therefore if they are annoyed, the poster must be a nuisance and shouldn’t be allow to post on UM.
I didn’t notice that the original post on this thread was not specifically to the attention of anyone, but you can guarantee the same few people will respond and one in particular with the same anti everything rhetoric he usually serves up.
I guess the rule is if you are not posting about three posts a day you’re not qualified to post on UM
