Re: Firefox
I installed it today, Frans.
I've since reinstated a couple of bars which had been moved or disappeared. I haven't located the actual Fox Clocks display yet, though Fox Clocks is still set up.

Re: Firefox 4.0
F4.0 provides for Fox Clocks and it lists options of where it can be displayed, but it then doesn't show up there. I wonder if that has anything to do with the problem I am experiencing with not being able to download updates or play videos.

Re: Firefox
Firefox 4.0 is a pain as it can't cope with Foxclocks. It seems to have de-activated that and a couple of other "add-ons", and more importantly seems to have dispensed with the "Quit & Save" (tabs) when you close it. That is a real pain as I tend to have about a dozen open and want to retain them when I next turn on.
Re: Firefox

Ass told before, "Some" add-ons don't work yet in Firefox 4!

Re: Firefox
I've got FoxClocks set up and even re-installed the latest version you gave the link to. The options are there under Tools, and which I've tried several different options/variations, - where to display it etc, but no display shows on my tool bar or anywhere else that I can see.
I've solved the saving tabs on exit and re-opening with them.
My AV programme updates all the time, and it's right up to date. I am suspicious that maybe the Firewall has done something, or possibly one of the Windows updates has denied access to certain sites or sites with out of date certificates or something like that, as the Firefox updates work OK and YouTube and the AV programme.

Re: Firefox
I'm getting increasingly p***'d off with Firefox (since the upgrade to Firefox 4.0), - and since last night, it's started telling me the many of the websites I normally visit are untrusted.
It comes up with a large and dramatic warning screen saying that "This Connection is Untrusted" (see below for example), with a number of options and implications presented.
..... And the warnings are on sites that I regularly visit including my bank, a share dealing company, Singapore Airlines and even hotmail!!
I don't have any warnings or problems accessing them through Opera or IE.

This Connection is Untrusted
You have asked Firefox to connect
securely to ......................., but we can't confirm that your connection is secure.
Normally, when you try to connect securely,
sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are
going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified.
What Should I Do?
If you usually connect to
this site without problems, this error could mean that someone is
trying to impersonate the site, and you shouldn't continue.

I Understand the Risks
Re: Firefox
I can't find anyone else reporting that problem with FireFox 4 RJ.
The only thing similar is that someone had a Credit Card Verification with FF4 but managed without an issue using Safari. The expert solution to solve the FF4 problem was this...

I think you have to be registered/logged on to enter a query, but easy enough to do so....

You might want to consider putting your problems here...Such details are stored in a cookie.
Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
* "Clear the Cache": Firefox > Preferences > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
* "Remove the Cookies" from sites causing problems: Firefox > Preferences > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
If clearing the cookies doesn't help then it is possible that the file cookies.sqlite that stores the cookies is corrupted.
Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete cookies.sqlite-journal and cookies.txt, if they exist, in the Profile Folder in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.

Re: Firefox
I clear my Cookies and cache etc almost daily through C Cleaner.
Where does one find Firefox Preferences to embark on that route? I usually find such things through "Tool" Options.

Re: Firefox
This has got to be a Firefox issue. I've googled on Foxclocks found some links including a couple from Mozilla, which mention that other people have had the same problems with Foxclocks not displaying with Firefox 4.0 and one saying there is a newer version of Foxclocks in the process of being approved, - you can download it early if you want to. Yet when I click on any of those links including the mozilla link, they all come up not trusted sites - do you want to view the certificate and and the only options are try again later or cancel.
If I can transfer my bookmarks to Opera I shall be moving there soon.

Re: Firefox
Well I've cleared my cache and all my cookies from there. I am accessing checking my bookmarks, though still getting "Untrusted sites" on some,- some of those which I hadn't already authorised as "Exceptions".
Note I am currently getting a blank page when opening hotmail - my homepage. I don't know if that is a temporary problem with them, or something I've done? -

Firefox
Yes, I've been able to open hotmail in IE Ok, so that must be something I've done.
I've just uninstalled Firefox and re-installed it, but kept all my personal data and stuff, and of course I still get a blank screen on my hotmail homepage. Any ideas on that one? I guess it must be something to do with my choice of homepage, perhaps tied in with something else.

Time to delete that bookmark.
Google Hotmail.
Re-Bookmark when you get to the page you want.
Can't understand why you should be having all these issues with FireFox RJ.
I am still running the latest version of 3 & the new version of 4 (depends what I feel like ) without any issue what so ever. However that is with Windows 7, not Vista.
In fact if it wasn't for the different way at getting at Bookmarks & the general lay out I have not really noticed much difference.

Firefox
It is in different places for all of them RJ.....but the premise is the same...
You need to find Bookmark/Favourite Manager and then there will be an Import & Export section there.
When loading a new browser they often give you the option, but I do not think it matters too much & you can do after..

Arjay,
Read other post: Problems downloading software updates.
Maybe you find the Foxclocks (SSL) or anny other progamm that don't work properly in the Eset, Protocol Filtering Exluded Application.
As told you before, I'm using Vista with Firefox 4.0 and the "not aproved yet" Foxclocks fore Firefox 4.0 togheter with AVG Internet Security Suite on my other machine, No problem at all.
But Opera is a good browser iff i read other comments.
So fare i understand the problems you have, This could be a Eset isue only.
Sorry iff I'm wrong
Frans.
