Udon girl tells me shes with child

I got back from my month trip to LOS nearly a week ago, I was up in Udon for Song Kran and spent most of that time with a girl who is a cashier at one of the Day and Night bars. No money changed hands for extra services whilst I was with her that time and she seemed genuinely interested in me, there was a couple of "accidents" in the bedroom whilst we was together but she messaged me on the last night of my trip (I'm down in Phuket at this stage) saying shes pregnant, she thinks she is merely 2 weeks gone!

Shes messaged me further since I got back to the UK saying shes going to get it sorted out and she doesn't want my money (I didn't offer any anyway...) but inevitably I got a message to my inbox this morning asking for 6000b for her to go and get sorted out.

Part of me believes this is entirely plausible and in the time I was with her I didn't find her to be full of bull but at same time the dates seem a bit quick to know and now shes asked for money the alarm bells are ringing but at the same time I don't want to have a further surprise if I leave it for 9 months!

Scam or not?

My gut reaction is Scam,
It's a repeat of my experience with a girl, a nice girl, who wouldn't scam or ask me for anything, but it turned out to be her hardened bar girl mates who were showing her just how easy it is to get a "dick" to part with his cash.
I refused telling her it could not be me 'cos I'd had the snip (a lie from me !), the requests for a cash solution soon stopped.
ps. she never did have a baby - no surprise there !

Anyway, it seems a bit too soon for her to be certain, and if she is preggo then there's still plenty of time for her/you to get it sorted.

yep thats my worry, hardened bar girl mates and an even harder boss at the bar filling her head with money based ideas.

Why don't you take responsibility for your accidents, unless you think that your accidents are her problem?

You mess around and make mistakes, ... and then you leave.

If you cause an accident in traffic, will you also run away without checking if there is some damage?

Oh kennyguk, what a mess we seem to have got ourselves in. Ok sensible question needs sensible answers.
it would seem that you enjoyed yourself during your brief respite in Udon with a girl ( unnamed as it should be ) and as a result there would appear on the face of it to be some problems.
Your have one or two options.
1 You can of course consider it a scam and walk away, but that could mean bigger problems depending on how much information about you this lady has. She obviously has your mobile phone number both here and in the Uk so that is not good .other information she may have gleaned form passport etc ( while you were sleeping )
2. You could of course pay the money and forget the issue ( no pun intended ) IF YOU DO send by WESTERN UNION at NO TIME do you use your bank to send money as further requests could be made and bank details obtained due to bank transfers etc ( do not trust Thai banks to keep info confidential )
3 Third and last option get a friend to check up on the story and then decide your plan of action.

In view of the amount of money and even considering a probable scam is in fact in operation OPTION TWO seems the best way forward with minimum ongoing problems.

before you make a decision consider this Thais have an Elephantine memory of wrongs done, they may smile and say jai yen yen etc but in fact they never forget so,even if you do nothing trust me over the next 1-3 years someone may well remember you, and the girlie network extends throughout Thailand, so to piss one off could cause problems in other places.

I am not being defeatist here just pragmatic if the figure was 20k or even 10 k I would think twice but 6k is approximately £122-130 quite cheap really for peace of mind I think.

the final decision of course rests with you .

By sorted out,assuming she means abortion.You say you spent most of a month with her w/o paying for extra services.so you should send her the 6000 baht and not concern yourself whether it is a ''scam'' or not as far as the money is concerned!Simple as that!

If she works in the D & N,she is around pros that could/probably do advice her,especially about vacationers that enjoy themselves with her,once or twice a year!

You dipped your wick,you have responsibility anyway,so don't be an asshole spending time thinking about an out,true or not!

Scam, do the math, if you were with her for a month, and unless she got pregnant on 1st couple weeks or day, and didn't miss period while you were there, how would she know she is pregnant, and only 2 weeks. I hope you are not that stupid. Tell her you love her and want to marry her when you come back in 9 months, and watch her back off. I wouldn't send her one baht, not because she might not of earned it, but simply because she is a lying thief.

I don't agree. If it was me I would send her Bt20.000 with a Heart felt apology for any stress I have caused ! Lets face it, you had a wonderful Month with her and she cost you no more than a few drinks. If it was a scam she would have bled you dry before you left and then tried for the Sting !! Take this coarse of action and you may be pleasantly surprised at how popular you are with the Ladies next time you visit D&N

Ken ...... forgive for my bluntness but .. i take it you are talking about the fat bird you brought in the shop on several occasions . i advise you to read the 2 posts before mine and also Trubrits post (common sense really) . This lass was / is a profeesional a brass in every sense of the word , she set you up from the minute she met you at Udon airport , hundreds of visitors to Thailand are sent these "im pregnant" scams and each chose there own way of dealing with it , send the 6k its not much but whos to say she will "get it sorted" anyhow and still nail ur arse to the wall later , or say sorry i no money and see what happens . I presume all she has done is a home / pharmacy bought pregnant test kit , tell her to go to the doctors / hossy n get an examination paper she can email or fax to you , its a fact at 2 weeks or 1 month just by looking even an expert like mash wouldnt be able to tell if shes up the spout or not with those big under pants she wears.

Time to start saving up daddy , pampers , clothes milk etc etc , then school , then a motorbike n car OH NY BUDDHA

It sounds rather scam like to me, in view of how quickly she has found out. Have you done the math on the dates and whether she had any periods during the time you were with her?

You could call her bluff by telling her that you've had the "snip", and perhaps ask her to fax you a copy of the blood/DNA test so you can check and take that to the Doctor who gave you the snip, when you sue him!! That would however complicate and extend/delay a solution and perhaps leave you worrying.

You could take the view that you spent some good time with her without payment and send her an amount of between 3000 and 6000 baht, i.e. to cover the cost of an abortion. My understanding is that Thai men would walk away and not pay. There is no CSA in Thailand, is there?

I've had women who said they wanted a farang baby, and didn't care about the financial support side of it. They said they would be happy to bring it up themselves. They just wanted a farang baby! Yet this one wants money to abort one, - that pushes it a bit closer to the scam side of the equation for me.

Whatever you decide, you can always change your telephone number and avoid that bar soi.

Thank you TB ........ i think thats a compliment and at least i know my university education was not wasted .

BTW , Ken the op is a really nice fella but obviously his brains are located somewhere below the belt , he was hooked asa he got off the plane by a true proffessional as i pointed ut when he visisted CC , alas im a purveyor of sausage of a different kind unlike our KENNY BOY.

Arjay was also on the mark .........if Ken was rattling this lass for the time hes was here without assisting finanacialy with her daily needs it would NOT hurt to flash her some cash and keep all sides happy thus ensuring upon his next trip to Udon he will not have his genitalia detached by the said lady of the night.

If she is prenant by the accidents you both made, I understand how she fells now. She is so worried coz Thai people are scared to lose their faces, same as me coz I'm Thai. If I were you guy, I would help her. but if it's crap, who knows?? lol...

ha ha, cheers Mash. I did wonder if you would appear at some point!

For me 2 weeks seems way too soon, I always thought it had to be a month or longer to get tested. Granted I don't know her full menstral cycles so anything is possible.

I did assist her financially all the time I spent with her day to day, never any massive sweeping amounts but just food, drink petrol for the moped and misc. expenses such as when she randomly pulled up at the beauty parlour and sat getting her hair and make up done for an hour, cost 100b.

As soon as I left Udon after Song Kran to get on with my holiday, I would be sitting on the beach and she started messaging me and ringing me because it had all kicked off with her living arrangements at her mates house and possibly her work and she was now sleeping rough at the bar every night. After some scrapes of my own down South I decided to head back up to UT to surprise her and give her somewhere to sleep for a few nights.

I stayed back in Udon for a few more days with her but by this time I was wary I didn't have long left of my trip and my days seemed to consist of running errands with her, so once I knew she was ok again I booked my flights back down to Phuket and said farewell, cue more tears etc and then once I got to Phuket thats when I got the "news"

If you respond to 1 begging bowl, then she will be back asking for the next bowl to be filled.

Next time you go to LOS pay for the transaction and boot her out in the morning, up the duff 'som nom nar' Then again you should of worn a condom! You both aint getting much sympathy here.

Send her an email saying that she is different and that you will not be asking for money off her because your sick transvestite Aunt cannot find her marbles. That might sort her out, after that its you and your marbles Wear a condom, and butterfly that fussy's advice!
