If there was it would be another Pheu Thai landslide, with or without Yingluck at the helm.

From what TW was saying yesterday the referees have pulled a yellow card for our electorate so looks like another election here. Reason! Some sort of erroneous vote buying allegation and smear campaign, how dare they! 55555. The locals will be laughing all the way to the Lao Kow shop clutching another hand out.
Big day for Yingluck, and Thailand

Thailand has had a few female rulers. For example, Chiraphrapha ruled Chiang Mai (Laan Kingdom) during the 16th century, and I believe there was another female ruler there too. However, the most famous female ruler of all was Cammadevi who ruled the Mon Kingdom of Haripunchai (modern-day Lamphun. Eventually, Lanna, or Chiang Mai supplanted Mon rule by the northern Thais under their great ruler, Mangrai. Who knows if earlier kingdoms such as Mon Dvaravati had female rulers.
By the way, Yingluck and Thaksin are hardly serfs.

I learn something new everyday, so thanks Laan for enlightening me..
you must always take my comments, as if I was painting with a wide brush
I like to create debate, foster ideas, induce others to expand thier horizons na ka
' ruled by kings since Buddha was a boy ' basically referred too " a ruddy long time "
and as for " serfs ', I was referring the colorful Red shirt farmers brigade, rather than Yingluck, and the new Sultan of Dubai..
however, as an historian for my own tribe, and a facilitator of cultural awareness, I enjoyed your little history lesson, and indeed, the effort you went too, to avail me/us of such truths..well done..

I have a hard time seeing her as a ruler,a leader etc. etc.,I think Thaksin and his money are still pulling the strings with her as a stand-in.It is all about him getting his confiscated assets first, then his repatriation, then business as usual with plenty of crumbs distributed to the Isaan base to insure business as usual and more accumulation of wealth from the freedom to wheel and deal with gov't assets!
Big day for Yingluck, and Thailand
Well its official. Yingluck becomes the first woman PM in Thailand . Today as expected she was voted in by a huge majority of the house . So now its all up to her . Will she just be a puppet for her brother? Will she be strong enough to resist the pressure that will undoubtedly be applied by the military junta.? Indeed will she survive for the full 4 year term without another coupe? So many questions that will decide, not only the future for the Thai people but the international standing of the country in the world. Lets all get behind her and wish her the best of luck, after all it certainly isn't the easiest job as others have found out .

Better than getting a new PM, the country will get a new Foreign Minister. With any luck, the new FM will be able to talk with other countries, not talk down on them.

I don't think it is confirmed yet but this is the most likely candidate for FM and his credentials are certainly better than his predecessor . http://www.asiasentinel.com/index.php?o ...
