I bought an aircon from Big C and was surprised by the service. 13000 baht for a 12000 btu single unit air conditioner - the guys came to fix it up ( in the rain ) within 2 hours, and after just an hour, the aircon was working with all the pipes laid out neatly and wires tacked up nicely. Payment was to the guys, not to Big C, for some strange reason.
The guys that fitted the A/C were your Thai lovers (although not as often as you would like as you're well up for it) mates and the reason he sleeps all day is because the aircon is well cool.
Or did you have it fitted in your hotel ?
Go to Cherm Chims for a cup of tea next time you're in town and watch a falang getting his head kicked in by his spouse and can you tell us all when that will be.

OT................. \:D/

The pie man said he will give me some kippers to bring for you. I'm really looking forward to meeting you. Hopefully this will dispell any doubts about you.
Which day are you arriving? What are you going to be doing in Singapore, and near where? I can suggest the hotel according to your budget :)

I am heading to Bangkok either tomorrow or the next day, then to Udon right away, either by bus or by plane.
merchant seaman wrote:All that education and good up bringing and you work as a clown. Can you tell me how many McDonalds are on Orchid Blvd.? and tell me what well known American reasturant is directully across the street from the Thai Embassy?

Hahhaa I dropped out of University at 19, but started my business at 17 and never looked back. My interviews are on http://www.viviengoh.com

I also happen to be the only female professional clown in Singapore. I enjoy making people happy and am quite a known figure, appearing on newspapers, magazines and TV interviews / shows since the age of 16.

Hmmm are you talking about the BK, Wendys or Dairy Queen that is on the same side of the road as Borders? I seldom go out to Orchard road, but if you ask me about good eating places, I can tell you all about them.

Isetan is in Shaw Center across the street from Borders, and there is a cinema called Lido at level 5. Pasta Fresca is a pretty good italian bistro in Shaw Center, and Isetan takes up almost the entire shopping are from B1 ( good japanese produce ) to Level 4 where the children section is. Isetan is one of my clients. The other is Carrefour, Carrefour has the best wines at the best prices I dare say, in Singapore. We have wines under $20 from France, and they are handpicked by Carrefour's own French buyers. I happen to be their wine Emcee, and they have only 2 stores, one in Suntec and one in Plaza Singapura. Orchard Towers, also known as four floors of *****, has Jasons ( supermarket ) at the ground level, and they have good selection of cheese and good pate.

Hmm...what else would you like to know about Singapore? We are 46 years old and the national language is actually Malay but most of us can't speak it. We mainly use English and Mandarin in Singapore, and eating is our national hobby.
Almost every cuisine is well represented here and we have several Michelin Starred restaurants.

When you are in Singapore, do call me. Drop me a PM for my number. However, I should be back only on the 22nd or 23rd of August.

Hope to meet you so you can dispel any myths of me being a balding old man having a laugh at the expense of the forum people... :)

LOL He sleeps all day because it is too hot outside, and at my hotel ( Wan Pen Apartments ) it is air-conditioned. When I went to his house, it was unbearable, so I thought it would be nice to give him a house warming present - an air-conditioner! Initially wanted to get him a portable unit (9000 btu) at only 9800 baht, but he said it's better to have the single unit, it cools faster and is less noisy.

I also got him bedsheets, which were surprisingly expensive, compared to Singapore. It was 4500 baht at Robinsons...and the thread count was only 380.

I can not imagine why a mattress would be 8000 and bedsheets 4500...he bought the mattress himself, a individual sized deal at one of the little shops near his place, and it came with alot of extras.

Directly across the street from the Thai Embassy. You don't know then you are not from Singapore. Google it and you might find out. I'll tell you if you are right.

May be worth it to fly directly out of international on AirAsia: http://www.airasia.com (around 3000 Baht round trip depending on luggage amount).
Thank you for the links... Singapore to Bangkok is only 2400 baht...taxes all in, so perhaps I'll just take the bus and enjoy the road trip :)

Hello Chanchop
Next time you come to Udon you can stay with me and my girlfriend if you wish (much cheaper than an hotel). Have a big house & you can have your own bedroom - 20 mins walk from the centre of town or 5 mins by tuk tuk. Then you can meet the guy on your own terms. We can show you where to go, where to eat etc. around town.

Easy to spot an Aussie..they have a hat with strings and corks to keep the flies off. The rest of the world uses soap.

Arosolius did you run this by your wife first? Pienmash sounds like you better put some extra staff on tomorrow. Better yet we can get all the volunteers you need from the fan club. Haven't heard from Chanchop, got a sneaky suspicion she's gonna miss her flight. I also heard they don't let clowns on the flights do to security issues.

I was down around the flower shops this morning and noticed a steady line of expat customers buying roses and bouquets. Funny thing was, they were all in button down shirts, shoes, belts, hair all freshly cut, and smelling like Protex powder. Is there a funeral somewhere in town today or were they all heading to the airport?

Didn't you notice all the extra highway police lining the streets and laying down rose pedals? This event will witout a doubt go down in expat history of Udon. So many cars at the airport valet service only (tipping is required or call it a bribe if you like). Also notice Boots as sold out of Old Spice after shave lotion. Such a mess at the airport don't know where CNN and BBC are going to park their satalite vans for live broadcasting of the event. There is also a rumor circulating that Miss Alacazar, and Miss Tiffiny will be there.

Hmmm udonfox you are right, I will climb over anything to get at the pork pie and blue cheese! Lol
Enjoyed reading everyone's responses, they were hilarious... The very image of a carnation recognition system is really funny! Anyways, am in the bus on the way to Udon now - I must have done something right, for it's only 412 instead of 550... But wait, it's minus personal tv and massage function on the chair and the food comes in a plastic bag instead of a box, but hey, I can live with this, it's better than waiting till 1915!

Ad, thank you for the kind offer, but bf stays with me and sometimes he gets the whole gang over for whisky, but would love to meet up at cc or central! Have a thai number 0886251203 and will probably arrive at the stroke of midnight today!

The weather is rainy in Bangkok, but that makes the scenery prettier whilst travelling!
