RUGBY SUPPORTERS WORLD CUP ( 21/23 OCT )

Post by BIGAL » October 17, 2011, 3:22 pm

"France can be the best team in the World on the day"...

that is the warning from All Blacks coach, Graham Henry, as all the supporters seem to have written off the French! Craig Joubert, the SA ref has been selected to officiate the RWC final, a testimony to his acurate & consistant decissions during the tournament. France can be so unpredictable but it appears that they are preparing themselves to surprise the All Blacks with their unorthodox flair & style of rugby which they hope to "peak" with in the final. All the pressure will certainly be on the All Blacks & this "mix" could make for an entertaining game. :guitar:

RUGBY SUPPORTERS WORLD CUP ( 21-23 OCT )

Post by BIGAL » October 18, 2011, 8:41 am

Don't miss this one......

Wales want to grab "bronze" medal against Australia this Friday at 230pm without their captain, Sam Warburton, who was red carded last week for a spier tackle & subsequently received a 3 week ban! Jenkins, the Wales skills coach, said they really needed to end on a high note. Horwill, Aussie captain, also said it would be important for the Wallabies to beat Wales for 3rd best at RWC! This could present 1 of the best matches of RWC as both sides will throw caution to the wind! Australia are hosting many injured players so it remains to be seen who will be playing :-"

Any "tips" will be welcomed for this game?

Agree BIGAL, the Wales-Aussie match will be good. For me the grand final was last Sunday when the All Blacks knocked off Australia. I didnt mind the loss to the AB's, but very happy the Wallabies knocked off the Springboks. And I will not feel any pity at all for the frogs on Sunday, poor barstads wont know what hit them.

GO ALL-BLACKS GO.

The New Zealand media seem to have completely gone overboard almost claiming the RWC 2011 as if the French are just filling in the numbers!

France have fired a threatening warning, stating that they feel " insulted" & are now even more fired up to try cause the biggest upset in RWC history! I think this "hype" has played into the hands of the French who thrive on being the underdogs & the pressure will mount on the All Blacks even more so now. If they create pressure on the All Blacks, they could just pull this off! VIVA LA FRANCE! :-k

being in the country, and only afew miles from Party Central, sure the media have tried to say its a done deal, but the All Blacks players, and Ted ( Graham Henry ) and many others have told the media, us kiwis, and themselves, that we must not get ahead of ourselves. That the jobs not done yet.. We know all to well what France can do to us in a World Cup, they knocked us out last time..forget the media, because the All Blacks have

the media in NZ fare great ones for making us winners before we actually are, whether it is the league, netball, America's Cup, rowing etc etc, and time and time again we dont make it..this time however the All Blacks themselves are telling the media to tone it down, and that the jobs not done yet..I guess you got to put something in newpapers in order to sell them..May the best team win..

Friday 21 October 1.30pm
Wales vs Australia ( 3rd / 4th place play off )

Nice early start to the week end, grab a bar stool & watch this entertaining game which Wales are pipped to win & grab third place at RWC? :-"

Sunday 23 October 3.00pm
France vs New Zealand RWC FINAL

Everyone seems to have forgotten that when France played New Zealand in the opening pool game they fielded an under strength side as they knew this game would not be important for them. The element of surprise awaits the All Blacks now as they have named their full strength side for the final. Vincent Clerq warned the All Blacks:- " You have won nothing yet, you are not World Champions, despite how we played in the past, THIS SUNDAY IS WHAT WILL COUNT!" Hansen, assistant coach to the All Blacks, agreed that this is going to be a much tougher challenge! :guitar:

ENJOY THE GAMES!

THE BRONZE MEDAL RWC 2011 - 1.30pm UDON TIME FRIDAY 21 OCTOBER :D

Australia have named 8 changes to the team that was beaten by the All Blacks in the quarter finals to face Wales for the Bronze Medal! Nathan Sharpe will run on for his 100th Test match as he replaces the injured Dan Vickerman. Quad Cooper, does anyone remember Quade Cooper?, has a chance to redeem himself & show he has talent for the No. 10 jersey!

Wales defeated Australia in the bronze play off in 1987 & are raring to go & repeat history! They all believe they should be rather playing in the RWC final after missing 6 penalties in the quarter finals which ultimately cost them the match!

GO WALES! I make it a good game with Wales taking it narrowly! :-"

A Magnificent effort by both Teams, and Congratulations to Australia who finally over came the Hoodoo of Eden Park after 25 years =D> Any Welshman with a bad word to say about their Team should be ashamed of themselves, they played with Courage and a Determination worth admiration and were just unlucky on the Day =D> =D>

Well, that certainly will not go down as one of the "spectacle" rugby tests of the RWC as both teams made silly errors as The Wallabies managed to narrowly beat Wales to take the bronze medal! James Hook missed easy penalty kicks that once again cost Wales the game! Barrack Barnes was named "man of the match" and looks set to takeover from a very disappointing RWC for Quade Cooper in the future! Well done Australia! =D>

Now for the RWC Final, Sunday 3pm, All Blacks vs France! Henry has named an unchanged side for the final as is the case with France! Viva les Blues for the biggest upset in RWC history? Is it possible? None of the bookies agree as everyone seems to have written of the French and they have stated that it is an "insult"! The pressure is firmly on the All Blacks to deliver the Webb Ellis trophy! Remember, everyone wrote off the French against England in the quarters and look at what happened? \:D/

To all the rugby supporters, enjoy the game, Cheers! Looks like Rob of Aussie Bar is open and screening the game as always and sure to have snacks! Trevor of Irish Clock, will also no doubt have the game on his giant screen with the Sunday roasties! :drunk:

Yeah BIGAL, they cannot play forever, and after 6 weeks of laughs, cries, disbelief it finishes tomorrow. I am still going with the All Blacks, both sides are match fit, no doubt the team psychologists have been working overtime for both sides.

So Al wherever your at tomorrow have a good day and to all rugby supporters you too have a good day. The Aussie bar will be open at 1.30pm and snack food will be available.
