If You also consider what was cited in TeakDoor.com, it is pretty much clear, that the old and new president were pretty much aware of the Swiss man's background but tried to protect him. They even did not want that candidates for officers of this strange club would be asked "about possible criminal records". So they got what they voted for.

I never get into a grouping of ten or more members ever since I read that in any 10 there will possibly be,either a homo, paedo or other criminal minded soul.As I am none of those that cuts the odds to 1 in 9 .

Why would he take the little Club have?
He just the Club as one way to show how good and generous I am,Even a "frauder" needs a good face.
He sponsored many ewent for the club.

But that as said the Club has their money.

Well, with the 620.000 Euros he lured from 62 victims in Europe "to pay 10,000 euros each to invest in the land development business" but never paid back, he surely could sponsor quite some events. And now the club is even proud of having been supported by embezzeled money?

you poor misguided people, gossiping about a report from Thai Visa. It is true that this man has brought disgrace to the Club, but the Club in itself has not broken any laws. It is fact that we have his signed resignation received from him at the Immigration holding centre in Nong Khai, and guess what 'there was no sh..t from his rectum on it as refered to by OLDTIMER, who sits with his scarf on his shoulders and his feet on his hot water bottle. But he know everything as do all his other cronies who contunially give their biased opinions in every thread on Udon Map. One day they may talk about factual things. Get the FACTS girls before you make fools of yourselves

There was a poster called benzona who had the same charm as downunder, both Australians, although benzona went on to say he was going to send a bunch of his very hard mates around to see OT and give him a good hiding.

Already in January this year, many members of the club as well as its board knew about the verdict of the Swiss Court of Appeal. As they all got information via e-mails from someone with the nick "Toy Bonschu". Inferred from the text she mailed to many in Udon, it was a Thai spouse of some Farang that became a victim of the Swiss man.

"Hallo
I can hear , Mr. John Schiochet is a Board Member in your Expat Club - Udon Thani.
I think you don`t know the Story of John Schiochet and his Wife Somruedee , I can not Understand , him is the Treasurer of your Club .
Please Check the Documents and than you know , please take Care your Money or you lost , like manny other Peoples in Germany , Swizerland ,Austria and Thailand , together about 2.500.000 ,- € . In Swizerland John Schiochet get on 21.1.2011 first 4 Years Prison and in Thailand him get on 17.01.2011 first 1 Year Prison .
Members like John Schiochet are not a good Promotion for your Expar - Club .

yes you are right as you would know, you were a board member then as only board members got that email. The names were taken from the website contacts page of all board members unlerss you can show me proof stating otherwise. The swiss man's problem I have learnt has gone on for more than last January as several members left the Board before that. I personally have tried talking to them but my requests fell on deaf ears up until now. I have learnt so much more now and in hindsight he should have been dismissed long before that. So what we do now is to get on with the running of the Club and learn from our mistakes. Just recently we dismissed the President and again dismissed the same person from the Board but this man still disrupts and sends emails out to deliberately run down the Club, again as you would know.

Oh my God, what a club. They left the Board and didn't tell you while they evidently were willing to share e-mails with others? And the Swiss man got elected although they knew about his ongoing criminal career?
Helps to start understanding why the club never was able to recruit more than 30+ members when there are more than 6.000 expats living in the province of Udon Thani.

you tell them Paul, we have 47 paid up Members, you never stop spreading your grievences about the Club because you were sacked as President, then sacked as Board Member, now you have been removed we will get more Membership. You are already on notice with the Police for Intent so be very careful what you say. What I have said is fact. The Swissman is now gone, we cannot do any more than that. you are a disgrace to the Club

downunder/joebloger, tell us more about that Paul. Wasn't he not the person that suggested that all candidates for offices within the club should be asked questions before the vote? Like whether they would be in conflict with the law or similar?

You are right. The topic of this thread was interesting enough to create a special alias as I had some information about the Swiss man from the past. Thought it would interest other farangs in Udon what the Thai people think of them and their clubs. Now since almost everything was said and nobody is willing to take over "political responsibility" for this affair, I am done and will revert to my old nick from 2005.

I'm still confused why the two major parties with input on this thread chose to use an alias. It possibly could have been an alias (or two) that allowed the swiss con-man to do what he did.

I presume this is a consequence of a rather authoritarian climate of opinion within the club. So why bother to speak out like a citizen would do?
The former president or vice president resp. who was in charge when the final court verdict in Switzerland arrived in January in Udon Thani province always wanted to protect the Swiss man. He even was of the opinion - and still is - that criminal behavior of club members do not interest the club, nor have to. Disregarding any obligations even farang clubs in Thailand own their guests.
He even tried and still is trying to persuade them to voluntarily destroy all information they might have gathered on the following aspects of their fellow members: "any records that relate in any way to immigration, passport details, visas, police investigations, law enforcement, courts, court actions, criminal or illegal activities, criminal events or records, alleged irregular activities, use of substances and drugs, or other allegations, and the like"

They should not even ask criminals critical questions, as this would be "quite definitely ‘unfriendly’" to the criminal.

I long ago came to the conclusion that it is unrealistic to expect a grouping of people whose only thing they have in common is that they all chose to reside in and around Udon Thani to be successful .After all, different nationalities have had various cultural influences on their upbringing. As is often seen on this forum, a different sense of humour which can, given the language difficulties, often offend, so serious discussion must present a multitude of problems .Add to that the differing levels of education which even with your own compatriots, causes misunderstanding, its a minefield just waiting for someone to trip over one , then all organisations require a hierarchy to control proceedings, another source of conflict as demonstrated by the postings of some members and ex members in this topic .
No for me a grouping must have a common interest to share, such as golf or another sporting activity to be successful .
