Firstly, sorry for the late update. Beach Bar failed to turn up for their match last Tuesday, and I have had to remove all their previous results from the tables.

The game at City Lodge (v Nemo Bar) was postponed last Tuesday at the request of both Captains, and will now take place on Monday (13th Feb).

Monday 13th Feb RESULT

City Lodge 5 - 11 Nemo

That means we go into the last round of matches (tonight) with both Nemo Bar and Papars on 34 points.

If they either both win, both draw or both lose, we will have a home and away playoff.

Which means ..................................................

after over 2500 frames of pool, we now need a playoff .

Total frames over the two legs wins.

In the event of a tie I will have to think of something between now and 28th :-k

statto their total head-to-head results during the normal season could be the next "tie breaker".

I was thinking more about a "penalty shoot out" type scenario. Something that can be done ON THE NIGHT.

In the event of a tie, why not just play an extra frame ;)

I am thinking about a "Penalty Shootout".
Captain nominates 4 players who each attempt a certain shot, most successfull team wins.
Can't say what the shot is until the night as they would be able to practice (that would be an advantage to Nemo as they would practice on the competition table)

I think there might be a big crowd to watch the matches ...... maybe we can charge for the best seats :-k

There shouldn't be a 'playoff'....

From what I can see Papars Bar finished top of the league by most frames won and least frames lost .

If Man City and man U finish with same points at the end of the Premier League goal difference will decide who are champions.
BTW Thanks for the updates!

Mac 70, the reason that we do not use frames won/lost during the season, is that it is a "friendly" league. The last thing we want is for teams to use only their top 4 players every week and try to win 16 - 0 week after week.

Perhaps we should look at having a "regular" season, with the top 8 teams going into the "playoffs" where they could play a "best of umpteen" series to see who progresses to the last 4 and then the last two and finally win the league. That way the team finishing 8th can win.

UDON POOL LEAGUE 2011/12 PLAYOFF FINAL

1st leg Result

PAPARS BAR 8 - 8 NEMO BAR

2nd leg to be played at Nemo Bar next Tuesday 28th Feb.

Some really good pool played by the top two sides in the league last night, with honours even at the end. =D>
If you just look at the result you would think that Nemo Bar must now be favourites to win on their own table, but for those that are not aware, Papars Bar were unbeaten all season away from their own bar (Played 11, Won 10, drew 1), so there is still plenty of mileage in this match yet
It was nice to see players from 7 other teams watching the match last night (most staying from start to finish), and I'm sure that they had an enjoyable evening out as did I. Thanks for your support guys. =D>

Who said you need a slate bases for a table?

In the event of a further tie in this years finals perhaps a third tie breaker can be held on a neutral table :-k

I suppose using rolled up dung for a ball brings a whole new meaning to a "sh*t shot"

a touching ball, means you play the white ball away from the colour ball,if the colour ball moves it is a foul

That rule applies to the game of Snooker, and also to the English rules of Pool... however, it is not recognised in International Pool rules.
Having said that, Tiger Udon Pool league do not play by International rules (something I will be asking for at the upcoming pre-season meeting) I have already mentioned this to John (Stattointhailand).
Whilst playing in the league this past season, I was informed by my opponent that this rule applies... and so I complied.

Let's not forget the first rule... and I quote here from IPT website:
Official IPT Rules

The most important rule is have fun, be honest, and be respectful to the other players and fans.
Sadly, I have not witnessed this rule enforced by all team players this past season... but the majority do adhere to it. :D
