Recently, I upgraded to service Pack 3. But now my Movie maker dont work.
Apparently because movie maker only works with service pack 2!
I tried download service pack 2 again, but now it wont work.Comes up with ."spinstall.exe is not a valid Win32 Application"
I tried online for a similar package as windows movie maker.but all I get is edit movies I already have!
I need CREATE MOVIE! Any Idea?

I take it that you are either on Windows XP or Windows Vista Morti.
I think that the best thing that you can do is upgrade to Windows 7 then you get the latest version of Movie Maker as a free add on with Microsoft Essentials.

I really got tired of fooling around with Windows Movie Maker and Windows Live Movie Maker. Take a look at the Sony Vegas products which are priced at $44.95/$94.95/$124.95 and $194.95. You can get a free 30-day trial download and I would bet that once you take a look, you will be reluctant to use Movie Maker. I did not realize how far along software had come until I downloaded the free trial and I was really surprised. Check it out. http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/vegassoftware

Bertie, thanks for your link. Downloaded the simplest version.
For somebody just wanting to collate some video's like me without spending too much time , I would say the newest Live Moviemaker is THE choice, simple, understandable, no steep learning curve, no overwhelming and confusing possibilities and terms.
The fact that it is free is not of any importance for me.
I don't think MB or me are the only ones being positive about Live Moviemaker, quite a lot of positive reviews. I know the software is limited, but that for me is a pre.
Having said all this, there may be a time, even though I doubt it, that I need to create a more complicated video and then I will reconsider.

I have just downloaded 'Video pad". its brilliant! so easy too.
Seems to be free, yet they ask to buy it every time I open it!
Maybe the "pro" has more functions. But all I need is there for me already.

You need to remove completely Service pack 3 from your PC as it needs proper removal from your all the drives of PC.
It will be fine to get Microsoft support if you still face the problem after removal of the service pack 3.
Thanks,

I would proceed cautiously with this advice!warnerbob18 wrote:You need to remove completely Service pack 3 from your PC as it needs proper removal from your all the drives of PC.

Thanks,
The initial post by the new contributor included a link (since removed by the Mods) to a site which has a poor reputation with the Firefox Web Of Trust (WOT).
More information can be obtained by googling warnerbob18.

Mortiboy,
Like I said, I haven't tried it so you will have to proceed at your own caution.
This was the original site....... http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index ... 422AACtMvQ
Also, I did a quick search and found this advice on removing sp3.
http://www.troublefixers.com/uninstall- ... procedure/
I had checked with Microsoft but for some reason they keep switching to the Thai language version ever since I installed Thai keyboard. (even with En selected) so I have a problem or 2 also.
Hope the above helps.
PS...if you go down the page a bit there, it shows a few different proceedures plus some comments on what will and what will not work re-uninstall sp3

The facts are that Microsoft support for XP Service Pack 2 ended on 13 July 2010. Any loopholes in the software discovered after that date are NOT fixed by Microsoft. If you are running XP SP2 software you are leaving yourself very vulnerable to having your PC hacked that no virus software you have running can protect you against.
XP SP3 has extended support until 08 April 2014.
Vista Service Pack 1 support ended on Tuesday, 12 July 2011.
Windows 7, as of now... January 13, 2015
If people cannot afford the latest Windows operating Systems or are not technically competent enough to get the software for free then I would suggest that they start investigating the various offerings of free Linux operating systems available to them & make the move now.
Windows will tighten the screw on things like Movie Maker because it is a good way of ensuring that its customers pay up for the latest operating system.
