English Teachers Wanted

I'm not advertising.......but passing info on to those who might be interested:

In the past 2 weeks, three people have called me inquiring whether I'd be interested in teaching full time English at different government schools. It's the beginning of a new school year, and it appears that the schools are scrambling to find teachers. I'm on a retirement visa, so I'm not interested in the jobs, but there may be others who are interested. I'd guess some of the other old-timers in Udon have received similar phone calls.

If someone is interested in such work, it might be worthwhile to post a short advertisement in the classified section of Udon Map. I've suggested to the schools (that I've spoken to) that they also take advantage of Udon Map's free classified section, but advertising doesn't seem to be a strong point with Thai schools.

Is it a requirement that you are a native english speaker? I am a swedish national with experience of working in english speaking countries. I am not an educated teacher but I have a few years experience of teaching as a substitute (in sweden).
