Ribs at Bubba's Bar & Grill

Post by BigBubba » July 4, 2012, 7:36 pm

...are FINISHED. Don't want anyone to make a trip expecting ribs and be disappointed. Of course we still have plenty of HALF POUND Burgers, Texas Chili, Nachos Grande.... etc, etc, etc.

Happy 4th of July!

Just had the ribs (1240AM), picked a take-out order 12 hours previous!!!

Ribs were awesome, have the other half in the fridge for brunch tomorrow....along with the cold slaw and baked beans.

Devil eggs had a little to much mustard for my taste, but still good.
Potato salad was very good.

So, when will you be doing ribs again?????

For SJP17, the world is getting smaller, note this from their website:

Tony Roma’s is the largest casual theme restaurant chain specializing in ribs in the world. With nearly 200 restaurant locations in 17 states, 33 countries and six continents, Tony Roma’s is one of the most globally recognizable names in the industry. From Miami to Los Angeles, Orlando to Edmonton, and Tokyo to Madrid, Tony Roma’s serves its signature ribs.... to thousands of guests every day.

And see this, albeit 3 years old:
http://www.btimes.com.my/Current_News/B ... 4/Article/

Tony Roma's used to operate at Sukumvit soi 5, not sure of current location in Bangkok.

Bubba, can you match that price 19.95 pounds for "all you can eat ribs"?
The 250 baht plate looked big enough for me however.

Tony Roma's famous for the Bluming Onions, very good......getting hungry just thinking about it.

Their ribs are smaller then what Bubba cooked yesterday.

Still have half the rack to finish off for brunch. Hey, it's brunch time!!!!

I haven’t been to a Tony Roma’s in over 30 years, but I remember the Outback Steakhouse restaurants served a bloomin’ onion along with a sauce that was TO DIE FOR!!! I could eat a whole one by myself.

This is almost a THOUSAND baht! Yeah, we could certainly do that… but with great trepidation because with my luck we’d get customers like this:

But then I guess we could resort to this tactic:

Actually I was thinking about doing this one day a week, but with only 2 sides instead of 4. What would be a good day?

Yeah, we had a full house Friday night and many laughs. For about 5 years after I saw that movie every time I putted on the golf course I would utter the Chevy Chase nananananana, and people ALWAYS knew what the reference was!

My personal favorite was Bill Murray telling a caddy what the Dalai Lama had told him, "No money shall change hands, but on your death bed you shall receive total conscientiousness... so I've got THAT going for me, which is nice".

Bubba's Bar & Grill has GRITS!!!

Post by BigBubba » July 11, 2012, 9:46 am

How about a piping hot bowl of garlic cheese grits with your breakfast?! Or you can just have them plain, and with butter of course. This weekend look for a Cajun special featuring grits. And coming soon... CORNBREAD!!!

Still have light and dark Beer Lao. IMO (and confirmed by some customers) the Dark Lager is as good as some German beers.

Friday night, movie night, this week we'll show Mel Brook's "Young Frankenstein". Favorite quote, "What KNOCKERS... oh, sank you doctor". Free popcorn.

Come join us!

One of my favourites from Young Frankenstein....

Sitting around the breakfast table discussing the large parts that will needed, for construction of the monster.

Enormous Schwanzstucker, is mentioned, Igor replies "He will be popular".

Spaghetti at Bubba's Bar & Grill

Post by BigBubba » July 11, 2012, 6:59 pm

Last week one of our regular customers saw a plate of Spaghetti being served at the table next to him. He said, "Wow, I never saw that here before." I said, "Blank (protecting his privacy) it's been on our menu since day one." So I guess there must be something to this gotta see a photo first thing.

So... here's a plate of our Spaghetti, as served with garlic bread.

I love Lasagne! We will be expanding our menu this fall and will certainly consider this item. Until then, Bella Italia, just down the street from us makes excellent Lasagne.
