I am interseted in a Tuk Tuk with a Daihatsu 3 cilinder engine, and proper weather protection, like the Nongkai or Bangkok models. Expertise has them I think, but I do not know where to visit them, and they do not reply on emails.
Ake Pannich makes Daihatsu engined Tuk Tuks, but I like a big shielded front, and and 2 integrated headlamps.
Anybody knows where to look for them?

The company in Udon you mention have the type you want. Hmmm, not sure about the twin headlamps though but that can be done exfactory if they cannot provide them.

I just looked at Ake Pannich's website...those are not the same TukTuk's he is talking about, those are SkyLabs. The Daihatsu TukTuk is the larger TukTuk, not the motorcycle type.

I asked around at Udon because everyone told me there was a dealer there...but I had no luck, someone said Khon Kaen has a company that makes them but you have to put down a deposit and then they custom build it. I am about to find out because my old TukTuk is worn out and I have decided to buy a new one...will post my findings on here.

Ake Pannich doesn't stock the Daihatsu Tuktuk, but they build them on demand.
They deliver one this week.
I am looking for the shape like expertise makes, but they don't reply on email

Sorry about that....I got into the teil-end of this discussion and didn't realize that there were so many previous posts! I will be using the information from those posts to find my new tuktuk instead of posting my findings!

And photo appears not to be made in Thailand. Note reflection of red brick building (very rare in LOS, much less Udon) and white sashed windows.

With a due respect Tuk Tuks spell danger I,d strongly advise not buying one in the first place not worth Dicing With Death .When farangs drive them lets be honest it looks ridiculous at at best of times . I suggest you save up those Bahts and buy a 2nd hand car and live another day in My humble opinion However you roll the dice you take the chance . \:D/

I agree 100%. Here, everything is about image, you just invite ridicule from the Thai's who just think you can't afford a car or you're a cheap charlie. When they smile at the misguided expat samlor owner and laugh they are taking the pi$$. You'll never pull a girl in a samlor.

hahahahah "Look wan Farang Farang he drive tuk tuk i bet the welds are creaking at the seams and his Wife she look so unhappy look she is now putting empty rice bag over her head " (Thai laughter) not that the Thai's are a judgemental group and all that . LOL

Jeebeeg

Why not phone the company? If language is a problem ask to speak with someone who can speak English. Most large companies outside Udon will have someone on staff who can speak English.
BTW: There's are many differences between the Skylabs here in UT and the real Tuk Tuk which I believe migrated here from India. The "Tuk Tuk" is a much more fuel efficient vehicle with most running on LPG. "Tuk Tuks" have a rear differential and I would venture to say are a whole lot lighter than the Skylab.
The reason you may not see "Tuk Tuks" for sale here in Udon may be related to who's controling the market here in UT.

Rather than worry about what the "Thais" are thinking, I would be far more concerned about my fellow farangs who seem to think it is of any consequence.

The cheesy car was a BMW M3 343 BHP 185 MPH (with the limiter removed) £60,000 new I dare say faster and more expensive than your purpose built Stannah stairlift .
Ok back to the OP get the Mr's to ask a Tuk Tuk taxi driver they may know someone prehaps a fellow Taxi worker who is selling one cheap just a thought all ways please to help . \:D/
