Where can I buy cheap toilet?

Post by MrJim » September 15, 2012, 6:31 pm

I'm going to rebuild my wife's house bathroom and need to found where is the cheapest place to buy a toilet and water heater.

I´m also thinking to build out a new room so anyone know where I should go.

Try the major DIY shops located at the north-eastern part of the ring road: St. Mall, Global House, Home Pro or Home Mart.

Several types on sale.

Try doing the same as you would in your own country, its not rocket science! Go to one of the many very clearly marked hardware suppliers.

The cheapest I found are the "Wellington Bomber" squat type, sits in floor with two footplates either side.
Needs skill to use, getting the right angle of attack before you release your load.

Ah yes, if the aim is not correct you then have the "spatter factor" And my problem... standing up after the job's done (bad knees). But to more directly answer the OP, I'd steer away from St. Mall (PAENG!) and suggest Global House for the biggest selection (and range of prices).

BigBubba thanks for your good answer I understand some people not going to take it serious and is on me. I have build 2 house already in Thailand and i know what I like to have, just know Home Pro is not the place I'm can make good price.

I´m just not know so much about Udan and found this page, Hope I see u around when I come up 26 sept. Stay first 2 weeks and after that I go with all her family to our hous ein Hua Hin for some weeks and later back and building.

But I like to change toilet direct so I can use it too, I don´t like to regular they have.

So Global House going to be the first place I visit ;)

The red one is good for male and female! And the red, white, and green appear to be male-friendly.......no seats to have to pull up or put back down. Looks like a real deal at 59 baht.

I have noticed this while building our house. Home Pro certainly does appear more geared up for the ferang lifestyle than that of Thai's and subsequently the prices are higher. Having said that we bought perhaps 50/50 from Home Pro & Global for most of our interior items.

Although the prices are higher I do prefer Home Pro as they have a much larger range of most items :D

Do not only think of Home Pro and Global House, good as they are. There are other outlets around the ring road. I bought two "western" style toilets , or soukha as they call them, from the big hardware store/builders merchant on the Western part of the ring road - opposite the electricitity company's offices. The items were in a sale and were reduced in price. Instead of being 2,950 Baht each, they were 950 Baht each.

I buy from the smaller independent builders merchants whenever I can as they can be cheaper than the big stores and are more willing to give a discount - especially if the Thai wife does the negotiating.

Next to Global House is a little shop (next to a garage, so on the left side of Global House).
They have (only) few models of toilets. The same models/products are 40%-50% cheaper comparing to
the global house prices.

Hi,
Ray i bought a tap fittng there 6 months ago, live just down the road from it. They have just built a huge building in front of the shop. I would not think they would close after doing that. Will check tomorrow. Used to get my bricks etc. from them.
